Chapter 29 - The Night (5)

1250 Words
Xalen is running down the hallway when he turns around and collides with someone, the blanket she holds on her hand all falling to the ground, she bows her head before she apologizes many times, while Xalen gathers all the blankets off the floor. “Here,” Xalen said, giving her the blanket back, Yoani still bowing even though her hand had received all the blankets. She peers through her lashes, to find a man not older than mid-twenty, looking apologetic, his eyebrow scrunched in concern, and his deep black orbs make Yoani breath hitches. Because nobody has ever seen at her like that before. “It was my fault, I should’ve been more careful when turning, are you okay?” Xalen asked, after a while. Yoani nods her head, looking down at her feet. As a servant, no one ever apologized to her before, she was bought to serve and dutifully do her job. It was more of an instinct for her to be blamed at this very moment, but the person in front of her only shows sincerity and pure concern. Perhaps the only one beside Lady Byrl and Lady Elleryn. “I’m sorry, but this place is puzzling for me. I have been trying to find a place since half an hour ago, but no one was seen through the hallway, and I keep wandering around without being able to find it. Seems like I was late for the Ceremony?” Xalen asked, gesturing to the empty hallway. “May I ask who are you?” Yoani said, this person right here can be anyone. He can also be the one who sends those two people and tries to harm Lady Elleryn and Crown Prince Rydan. “My name is Xalen, I’m a General from Qye” the moment he said this, Yoani able to find Qye’s emblem on the left side of his chest, its glinting through the night, a white blooming peonies adorned with three coloured ribbon, symbolizes its diversity and harmony of the Kingdom. How she wishes she could live there. “The Ceremony finishes just now, but there’s something else that happens afterward. I don’t know the details because I was paralyzed at that time and my eyes weren’t on the scene. A dragon was killed, Princess Ezana dragon, and the minute I could move, Lady Elleryn rushed out the Hall,” Yoani lets out the bit that she is aware of, she doesn’t understand this feeling she had. She feels like she can trust him, perhaps because he is the general of Qye. His eyes immediately turn dark, ready to kill for someone, and Yoani could only flinch. “Could you tell me where she rushes out?” Xalen asked, trying to control his tone, but he couldn’t hide the dark demeanor around him. “T-the forest, I heard a servant saw her passing the hallway leading to the forest,” Yoani stuttered, Xalen immediately said his thanks and ran towards the hallway that Yoani pointed for him. He can’t believe it, he is late, he couldn’t even protect one Ezana dragon and how is he going to protect her?  • • ⊱∘────·❅·────∘⊰ • • Kyzen stands still, not far away from his sister who is sobbing in front of two majestic dragons at the moment, Ladon and Fabin stand not far beside him. Rydan was about to walk closer to her, preferably hold her in his embrace and rub her back soothingly, calming her. But before he can do any of that, Ladon holds his arm and puts him in place, glaring at him. “What do you think you’re doing? Are you insane?” Ladon hissed at him, narrowing his eyes toward the Crown Prince, who looked at him in confusion. His wolf growls inside his head, he wants to grab Ladon’s throat and see if he still can stop Rydan from tearing him apart. However, Rydan tries hard to control his wolf, he doesn’t want Elleryn to kill him, he doesn't want Elleryn to hurt more than she already is. “She’s unstable at the moment, she needs to let it all out before we can approach her. If not, there’s a chance she sees you as the enemy and decides to kill you instead,” Ladon explained, earning a nod of understanding from Rydan. Kyzen grits his teeth, making Ladon snapping his head toward him. “I think we are late. Qeera has taken control of her mind, look,” Kyzen points his finger towards her sister. Elleryn stands there, eyes blazing electric blue, her full white hair now has a few strands that turn into the dark blue of the ocean and her eyes seem cloudy with something, something not good. “s**t,” Ladon hissed.  • • ⊱∘────·❅·────∘⊰ • • As ocean dragon, Qeera has the ability to control the mind, and at her state, Elleryn couldn’t do anything but admit to every word that Qeera continued to utter inside her mind. 'You warn him.' She did. 'He didn’t listen.' He didn’t. 'Now, what happened? Genieve died.' She is. 'What should you do?' She didn’t know. 'Kill.' Maybe, she will. Elleryn looks at Vierna and Qries, sending her decision towards their mind, ignoring their disapproval look because she is determined to do this. 'That is not what I want, Elleryn.' Vierna whispers, but a harsh shout from Qeera blurred her words. 'She wishes that to happen, deep inside her heart. You should be the one to grant it. Kill.' So she turns around and walks towards the castle, passing her brother and her husband, who stand there with concern filling his eyes. Why? Fabin chooses that time to stand in front of her, wrong move. The last time Elleryn could control both her mind and body, but this time Qeera has all the control of her, so she hisses at Fabin, sending daggers through her eyes, about to lift her finger and send him away, but Kyzen quickly pulls him off her way, saving him, she then continued walking. “That’s Qeera! You should’ve used your head before jumping in front of her!” Kyzen scolds his older brother. Fabin pouts at him, feeling wronged inside, clearly not good with this situation.  “We need to stop her. Qeera able to convince her just now to kill the King,” Kyzen whispered, he could hear the murmurs of the spirit around her, who looked scared and worried. Ladon grits his teeth and runs towards his sister. “We need to be quick,” Ladon said, this time leaving Kyzen, Fabin, and Rydan behind. They all followed closely. Ladon was about to hold her wrist when he was stopped from something. There’s a barrier that surrounds Elleryn, an invisible barrier that decided to engulf Elleryn inside. “Sister you need to stop!” Kyzen shouted this time. Hoping that somewhere deep down she could still hear it all, his plea and a desperate call for his sister to be awake and stop all this. But she just turns around and whispers. A word that sends a shiver down their spine, “Kill”
