Kathryn’s POV I stared at them in shock, who did they think they were to harass my sister like that? I angrily took a stick and hit one of the men on the head before rushing to Diana. “Are you okay?” I asked her and she nodded weakly. I felt bad before I took the stick and started hitting the men before they all ran away while the people of the street looked at me. They couldn’t even help fight off those men when they were harassing my sister. “ Cowards!” I muttered to myself as I helped Diana into our small apartment not far from where she was harassed. Mum rushed to us immediately she saw the state Diana was in. “What happened to her?” She asked in fear as I went to the kitchen to get water for my sister who was badly injured. “Ask your husband, he should know. He was the one who went and borrowed two million from that Alexander Gunderson wasn’t he? He doesn’t even have a job yet he went and borrowed a whopping two million dollars from that man” I said in anger. Why wouldn’t I be? I had the most irresponsible father in the whole world. He could barely provide for us which is why I had to get a job alongside my elder sister, Diana in a coffee shop not far away from our street to meet ends meet. Fine, not everyone was lucky enough to be able to provide for their family but then they shouldn’t use the little money they had to get drunk right? My dad didn’t have a good job which meant he was not getting a good pay which is fine, seeing as he isn’t a complete literate but then, he would always use the money and get drunk. He even went as far as borrowing two million dollars from the wicked don of our town, Alexander Gunderson. If he’d even attempted a business idea with the money and it didn’t turn out well, we’d understand but guess what he did with the money…. He hosted a wedding for his mistress. Yes, I had a stepmom, Amelia. He’d spent two million dollars getting married to a second wife and getting drunk and now that he didn’t have the money to repay, Diana, mum and Amelia had now become Derrick’s subject of harassment . One might wonder, why isn’t Kathryn on his harassment list? Well, he wouldn’t even dare. Even those pathetic goons of his wouldn’t even try to touch me because I had a reputation even though it was not a good one.. I was known as the female thug of Verona and even though I felt proud of the name, mum and Amelia weren’t because they were worried I wouldn’t never get married with such a reputation. Yes, Amelia and I didn’t really have a typical step mother and step daughter relationship. We were very close and she was my best friend in the world even though she was my silly father’s second wife. As I treated Diana’s wounds, Josh, my dad laughed. He was drunk again and in his drunken state, he thought Diana looked funny. “Look at her, you should really stick to doing your makeup yourself because the makeup artist definitely did a terrible job” he said as he continued to laugh and I lost my cool. I rushed to him and dragged him by the collar, “ do you really think it’s funny? You don’t like her makeup? I could give you the same makeup for free you know” I said as I raised my hand to hit him when mum and Amelia stopped me by holding me back. “Don’t do this Katy, he’s your father” Amelia said as she pulled me away from him. I clenched my fists, i wondered how my dad’s life would have been if he didn’t have Amelia and my mum in it because I was sure that if he only lived with me, he wouldn’t be a drunkard because I’d set him straight with beatings. I pulled away from them before leaving the house angrily, I’d had enough with that Alexander Gunderson of a man and now, I was going to give him a piece of my mind. I walked out of the house, tucking my shirt in my jeans as I climbed onto my scouter as I drove off while mum called after me. “ Alexander Gunderson or whatever you call yourself, you’ve awoken the tiger in Kathryn Wilson ” I spoke to myself as I increased the speed. . “ Alexander Gunderson, get out you fool” I yelled as I banged hard on his gate while his guards tried to get me out but knowing who I was fully well, they were very careful about it. After some time of banging, a Bugatti Chiron pulled over and the gate was opened. Seeing as it was a Bugatti Chiron, I immediately knew who it was, it was Alexander and I immediately rushed and stood in front of the car, putting it to an abrupt stop. “What are you doing madam? Get out of there “ one of the guards told me but instead of doing as I was told, I put my left leg on the car and they all exclaimed while I stared at them in arrogance. I sure had guts, daring to put my leg on a car worth four million dollars. The driver got out of the car and tried to get me to leave but I wasn’t budging, I had to give this man a piece of my mind. Seeing as I wasn’t listening to them, the guards decided to go the hard way and they started dragging me. “Let go of me you fool!” I yelled as I pushed them away. “ if you touch me again, I’ll kill you” I threatened but they didn’t budge and as they pushed me, I crashed into someone. “Let me handle this “ I heard his voice say and I quickly pushed him away before staring straight in his eyes. “So tell me, what are you doing here? It seems like you would like to die before your time now do you?” He asked with a disgusting smile on his face and I gave him a slap across the face. “So what do you think of yourself?” I asked “ just because you’re a mafia don doesn’t mean you can harass women. Do you know who I am?” I asked as I dragged him by the collar “ if you ever harass any member of my family, mum, Diana, Amelia or anyone, I’ll kill you do you get it?” I yelled before pushing him away. I scoffed out the words “ foolish man” before getting on my scouter and just as I was about to zoom off, I heard him burst into laughter and I took off my helmet to stare at him. He went to one of his bodyguards and laughed at him and soon they all started laughing. I looked at them confused , what was wrong with them? I just hit the most feared mafia don in the whole country and instead of him to react, he was laughing. I shook my head, why should I bother? He could laugh out his intestine for all I cared so I put on my helmet and as I was about to start the bike, he spoke. “You will pay dearly for this Kathryn Wilson .You won’t get away with slapping me because by the time you get home, you’ll be down a family member “ he said and with that, he walked into the gates of his mansion. I quickly zoomed off, to the whole of Verona, I was the tough, unshaken daughter of the local drunkard, Josh Wilson but I knew myself, I’d never forgive myself if anything ever happened to them. I took my phone and tried calling Amelia which was not advisable seeing as I was zooming off on a motorbike and I was driving but she wasn’t answering and fear was getting the best of me. I knew Alexander Gunderson, he could kill anyone like they were mosquitoes and I couldn’t risk the life of my family. When I got home, I immediately opened the door and rushed in, as I rushed in, I saw how messy the house was and it was almost like there was some sort of fight here. I gulped and on walking in, I saw Diana laying on the ground and I screamed in fear, he’d hurt Diana and where was mum and Amelia. I rushed to where she was on the floor in fear and called out to her but received no response. I knelt and put Diana on my laps as tears streamed down my cheeks, “ You will pay for this Alexander “I said out loud.
