Destiny cannot be fought against. I had known Emily's parents and when I learnt about Emily, I was sure that she too had a short time to live in the Supernatural Dimension. Miraculously, she had survived almost certain death at the age of three. I still wondered what the 'Anodyne' had done to ensure that fate was unable to have its way. As the only one who could look into the future of all beings belonging to the Supernatural Dimension, I was sure that Emily would not be able to survive tonight.
