As oxygen plummeted in the locked server room, I stared at the terminal displaying my husband's mistress, Chloe, registered with Super Admin rights. She had deliberately triggered the Halon gas system, leaving my mentor Evelyn suffocating on the floor. Over the emergency line, Julian's cruel response echoed: "Even if you die in there, don't interrupt the launch." Standing inside the NASDAQ ringing ceremony, I prepared to execute the Fatal Override protocol. Pressing that key would instantly format the ten-billion-dollar AI core, meaning I would permanently destroy five years of my own agonizing hard work. Julian smiled brightly at the press on stage. As his security guards lunged toward me, my trembling finger hovered over the terminal. Would we survive this final confrontation?

Chapter 1 The Lockdown (困局与背叛)
Twenty-four hours. That’s all it took for my world to collapse. It began in the heart of my creation: the Nexus AI server farm. It was less a room and more a cathedral of code, kept at a constant sixty degrees. Racks of humming servers stood like monoliths, their blinking green lights the prayers of a digital god. This was my sanctuary. I, Ada Reid, had built this place, this intelligence, from a single line of code into a ten-billion-dollar titan on the verge of its NASDAQ debut. My mentor, Evelyn Grant, stood beside me, her sharp eyes scanning the primary cooling system diagnostics. At sixty-five, she still commanded more respect than any venture capitalist half her age. She was the first person who saw the genius in my work, not the gender of its creator. “Everything is nominal, Ada,” she said, her voice a calm anchor in the electric pre-IPO storm. “You’ve built something truly indestructible.” I managed a tight smile. “Let’s hope so. One final check on the core logic loops, and we can leave it to the gods of Wall Street.” We were supposed to be the only two people with access to the core room during the pre-launch lockdown. So when I saw Chloe Thorne on the security monitor, preening for a gaggle of tech journalists just outside the reinforced glass, a familiar irritation tightened my chest. Chloe was Julian’s latest pet project, a marketing hire with a dazzling smile and the technical knowledge of a toaster. Julian—my husband and our CEO—insisted she was the “dynamic new face” of Nexus AI. I knew she was a parasite, latching onto the body of my work. She laughed at something a reporter said, tossing her perfectly styled blonde hair. The camera feed zoomed in on her face, then her wrist as she gestured. My breath caught in my throat. On her slender wrist was a watch. Not just any watch. A one-of-a-kind prototype from a Swiss designer, with a watch face made from a sliver of the Gibeon meteorite. Julian had commissioned it for our third anniversary. Two months ago, he’d told me, his face a mask of distress, that it had been stolen from his gym locker. He’d made a show of filing a police report. Lies. It was all a cascade of intricate, soul-crushing lies. “Ada? Are you alright? You’ve gone pale.” Evelyn’s voice cut through the fog of my shock. I couldn’t speak. I just pointed at the screen. Evelyn squinted, her eyes widening as she recognized the unique timepiece. She said nothing, but the sudden, hard set of her jaw told me she understood. She placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. On the monitor, Chloe turned to the keypad on the server room door. With a theatrical flourish, she entered a code. The heavy magnetic lock on our door clanged shut with a terrifying finality. A red light above the door switched from “Unlocked” to “SECURE MODE.” “What is she doing?” I muttered, moving to my own terminal. “Lockdown isn’t for another hour.” I brought up the door controls, my fingers flying across the keyboard. I entered my override command. `ACCESS DENIED. ADMIN LEVEL 9 REQUIRED.` My blood ran cold. I *was* Admin Level 10. The creator. No one had higher clearance. I typed in a deeper query, pulling up the system’s user hierarchy. My own profile, `Ada Reid - Founder, Chief Architect`, was now listed as Level 8. And there, at the top, glowing with a power she had no right to, was her name. `Chloe Thorne - Super Admin (Level 10)` It was a digital coup. He’d given her the keys to my kingdom. But it was the line directly beneath her name that shattered the last vestiges of my composure. It was a secondary field, an alias for internal system communications. `Alias: Mrs. Julian Croft.` I felt the air leave my lungs, as if the room’s oxygen had been stolen. He hadn’t just given her my power; he had given her my name. I was being replaced, erased from my own life, my own company. Suddenly, a klaxon blared, deafening in the enclosed space. Red lights began to strobe, casting the room in a hellish pulse. A synthesized female voice echoed from the ceiling speakers. “WARNING. HALON GAS SYSTEM ACTIVATED. OXYGEN WILL BE DISPLACED IN T-MINUS 60 SECONDS.” On the screen, I saw Chloe flinch back from the panel she’d been touching, a look of faux surprise on her face. She’d triggered the fire suppression system. It was an extreme measure, designed to starve a fire of oxygen, instantly killing the flames—and anything else that needed to breathe. “She’s an i***t! She hit the emergency purge!” I yelled, already sprinting for the manual override switch by the door. I slammed my palm against the emergency release button. Nothing. It was dead. The system voice droned on. “T-minus 45 seconds.” “Her lockdown command,” I choked out, a horrifying realization dawning. “Super Admin lockdown bypasses the manual safety releases. She’s locked us in to be gassed.” “Asthma,” Evelyn wheezed, her hand flying to her chest. “Ada… my inhaler… it’s in my purse, outside.” Panic, cold and sharp, pierced through my rage. I looked at the monitor again. Chloe was no longer looking surprised. She was watching the door, a small, knowing smirk playing on her lips. She saw the red lights flashing on our side of the glass. She knew. This was not an accident. “T-minus 30 seconds.” Evelyn was already struggling for breath, her face paling. I pounded on the soundproof glass, screaming words that couldn't be heard. Chloe simply watched, then turned her back to us and resumed her charming interview, as if she were waiting for a pot of tea to boil. A soft hiss filled the room. The Halon was being released. It was odorless, colorless, but I could feel it, a heavy, suffocating presence replacing the air. My own breaths started to feel thin, useless. Evelyn slid down the wall, her gasps becoming ragged, desperate sounds in the sudden, terrifying silence between klaxon blasts. Her eyes, wide with fear, were locked on mine. “T-minus 15 seconds.” We were trapped. Entombed in the heart of my own machine, left to suffocate by the woman who wore my husband’s watch and my name. And my mentor, the only person who had ever truly championed me, was dying at my feet.
