CHAPTER 10: Weekend Trip

“You were with Cole this morning?” I jump as Wintyr suddenly appears in front of me and Lily “What?” Lily whips her head to face me too “Why are you acting surprised I just told you at lunch” I point out and she looks up thinking “Oh yeah, what’s it to you, fake boyfriend?” She crosses her arms over her chest as Wintyr eyes her 

“You told her it was fake?” He questions me “She is my best friend, plus she is not going to tell anyone” I point out as Wintyr looks away with a sigh “Well this," He points between me and him "We need to do more, it’s not working” “No I think it is, wait how did you know about me and Cole?” “Come on that’s my bro, of course he told me, no wonder you were acting weird this morning, you better give me that coat to give back to him” He clicks his finger in realisation “I’m gonna be late for my next class Gab, so I will see you after school?” I nod and wave at Lily as she leaves us alone

“Don’t tell me you forgot about our plans?” Wintyr’s brows c**k up and my brows narrow “After school- ah yeah of course not” I quickly correct myself ditching the plan of binging Netflix with Lily ‘don’t forget to text her Gab’ “Mhm” I nod setting a reminder in my head “I’ve got one class now, so you can wait outside my class?” I kick rocks awkwardly as I let him know 

“See you then” Wintyr steps forward to hug me awkwardly “Ruby is right behind us” He whispers as I tenderly wrap my arms back around him “I know you don’t like my kisses” He finally releases me “See you later pabo” He walks around me to meet a random boy who had been waiting for him and Ruby catches up to me 

“I know I’m late but you are never late, I’m starting to think Wintyr isn’t a very good influence on you” I roll my eyes nudging her “He’s so cute, I can’t help but spend all my time with him” I gag whilst saying that but she awes covering her mouth “AWW when did you turn into a softie, he is so nice isn’t he! So many girls are so jealous of you especially Yvlen” She explains to me as we enter our history classroom that was surprisingly loud as the teacher was too late to her lesson 

“Who’s Yvlen?” I say lowly making our ways to our seats which was luckily next to each other “Wintyr’s ex” She says calmly “Hm” I shrug sitting down and leaning over to Ruby “Why did they break up?” “Wintyr didn’t like her anymore but she still loves him” I frown feeling slightly bad, Wintyr must’ve stopped liking her cause he liked Ruby maybe “That’s a shame” I settle back into my seat “That’s why you’re the luckiest girl in school cause you’re with Wintyr, you still need to tell me how it went down” I force a fake laugh looking away with wide eyes when I focus on my books 

‘How long can I keep up these smiles? Ugh anything for Cole, come on Gab’ I rest my head in my hands as I decide for the rest of the class. This is one of 3 classes I had with Cole so I decided I was going to stare at Cole who was placed at the front of the class for disrupting class so many times 

*bell*

“Hey Gabby” Cole catches up to me as everyone rushes to their next class “Thanks for this morning” He grabs hold of my hand bouncing it up and down with every word “Ah it’s okay” I try to force my instantly sweaty hands out of his “No, I feel like I owe you one” I try not to smile pushing my hair back shyly with my free hand “Well-“ “Cole I want to know what your doing holding my girlfriends' hand” Wintyr comes into view and my eyes widen as the plan was to get Cole which he was totally ruining now

They stare each other down and Wintyr smacks his hand off mine taking it from him “Don’t misunderstand bro, we were just talking” I nod agreeing with Cole “Sorry, you know how jealous I get with my property" He scoffs sarcastically “Cool” Cole snorts looking him up and down then to me “See you later Gabby” He nods and leaves us classroom 

“What was that?” I smack the back of his head when the door shuts “OW” He bends down as I push my hair back angrily “He didn’t even get to finish what he was saying” I angrily pick up my books and bag then storm out “Wait” I hear behind me as I turn to my locker 

“Gabriella” He sounded like he was still in pain but still manages to get my locker once I opened it “What?” I stop what I was doing then look at him “I- you hurt my head” I put my fist out making him flinch then continue to launch all my books in at once “Come on that defo made him jealous but I am getting jealous cause how comes I am not holding hands with Ruby yet? Simply, that’s not fair” He points out and I roll my eyes at his childish act

“How is that my problem?” I say looking into my locker not wanting to see him right now “Okay sorry sorry, I'm sorry Gabriella, for real, I didn't read the room properly” I think about his words for a while then exhale getting over it “You have to buy me something to make up for it” I say crossing my arms over my chest facing him “Oh that's easy, sweet” He says shrugging his shoulders and I smile "I want a blanket hoodie or a teddy or something like that"

“Cute” He says looking at my smile then into my eyes clearing his throat “I’m not calling you cute, you just remind me of my ex when she would get mad at me, food was always my go to" He clears his throat again choking up "Sorry” He coughs out and I close my locker trying to hold in my laughter 

“Are we just going to waste time standing here all day or do you wanna play videos games?” I question talking to air and not looking at him 

To be honest I knew I wanted asked questions about his ex but it's nothing I cared about, he didn’t like her, tuff luck, but if was in reverse and this Yvlen girl was the stupid girl who cheated on my bae that would have been a different story 

“Erm yeah come on” He leads me out pretending that the 'cute' remark didn't just happen as I had ignored it “So you waited a whole period so we can play on your PS5?” I scoff getting into the front seat “I didn’t wait! I played basketball then came to wait” He throws his bag at the back and I do the same “You hoop?” He asks me "Does it look like I hoop?" I gesture my medium figure

"I dunno" “Well my dad and bro love to play and I join just to be fit” “So you’ll play with me right?” He asks driving out “Sure why not” I gleam up excited to beat him “If I win you buy me a meal” He states and I huff into my seat “I don't want to buy you food though” “Whyyyy?” He says so loud making me giggle accidentally “Cause I want to buy Cole food!” I shout back showing the same energy “And I want to hoop with Ruby!!” He shouts back even louder and we both laugh together 

“Okay stop I think I might pee my pants” I try to calm myself down as we approach a red light “But seriously the meal” I nod accepting his offer trying to regain my breathing “Deal” I bounce my feet on the floor “Okay don’t be so excited to see me on the weekend jeez” I stop “What? What do you mean weekend?” “I’ll pick you up 8am Saturday, be ready baby” I gag at the nickname "Anything but that please” I cover my mouth pretending to throw up 

“But are we seriously going to ball on the weekend?” I back track “Yeah I have training and a game, you’re coming right, Cole will be there” I beam a little “Well in that case of course I’m coming, is he going to be there when we play?” “Not in the morning, no” He turns a corner which was reveals a little of the city but I didn't think much about it “Good cause if he saw me sweaty he would never like me-” “You’re already accepting defeat?” I sit up confused looking out the window “Wait, where are you taking me?” I try to piece together the buildings coming into view “CRAIG’s” My eyes widen “As in your dad’s company?” He nods his head casually

“Oh did I forget to say?” He pouts cheekily and I scowl as I can see he did it on purpose “No please I am not ready to meet him, your dad is so hot” He now gags “He’s married Gabriella” I nudge his arm “Stop that” He pulls into the parking lot “We won’t be long honey, he just wants to see me quickly, I’ll buy you food and we can go to my house?” I tap my chin “Two things” I hold my fingers out “Never call me honey again” I warn him seriously and he swallows nodding “And two you won me at food” I turn to open my door and follow him up
