CHAPTER 19: Piece Of Me

The weeks that go by are super fun cause me and Wintyr literally hung out everyday after school and the weekends, he even hung out with my best friends too and they seemed to love his goofy nature too. 

He didn’t sit with us at lunch all the time cause he obviously he still had his friend but the times he would our table was always the loudest in the room cause he'd loved to pick on Lily which she didn't seem to mind at all. 

As Wintyr is a known athlete, my body seem to get used to all the exercise he's make us do together, even at lunch we'd sometimes play basketball, just me him and my best friends - what more could you ask for? 

Don’t get me wrong, the stares were still uncomfortable and the popular girls did sometimes bother me making indirecting looks and comments but it’s something I had just gotten used to and a lot of pep talks from wintyr telling me not to march up to them and knock the words right back into them *smiles happily :)*

am - morning

I was now walking out of third period when I spot Lily running towards me in a rush “Did you hear?” She stops infront of me out of breath “What? Hear what?” “Wintyr, he- he" She tries to find the words making me grow more worried "He's getting into a fight” My eyes widen immediately “He's what?” I exclaim noticing other people round me running in the same direction “W-where?” I start to panic walking with her 

“Apparently there’s been a boy messing with Summyr for a long time and Wintyr had enough, so he dealt with it himself and well...” We see a huge crowd in the distance and I quickly run into the middle leaving Lily by herself “Oh no” I watch the scene of a blood boy under Winytr's hold while he was still going at it “No!” I cover my mouth when the boy throws a blow to Wintyr’s lip making it bleed instantly. I look up at Summyr crying whilst begging her brother to stop 

“Wintyr” I push past the people in front of me and roughly pull him off the poor boy ‘damn i'm  kinda strong now’ I compliment myself but quickly focus back on the scene “You’re gonna get suspended! All that good is going to go to waste” I slap him out of his trance but he still seemed stuck as pushes me off him roughly returning to the boy laid on the floor

“Dude snap out of it” Cole hugs him as he goes for Danny again. I look up at Cole relived that he was here to help me with Wintyr “Get the f!ck off me” He pushes Cole off him all of a sudden then takes my wrist roughly "Wait" I try to stop Wintyr as he pull me down an empty hall and I look back at Cole who stood there shock from Wintyr's actions

“You didn’t have to be so rude to Cole” I whine taking us into the nurses room knowing no one would be here “He’s just always here and there” He scowls and I roll my eyes “Stop being so childish he’s your best friend Wintyr, he’s helping you” I look at his b****y knuckles then look to him angrily “I hate you” I tut then sit him down reaching to get the first aid 

“Look at your hands Wintyr, how are you going to play?” I frown wiping his b****y lip “That's the least of my worries right now” He grunts and I look at him “Violence is not always the answer” He rolls his eyes “Okay mum” He says sarcastically and my jaw drops “Plaster yourself up then” I throw it on his lap then stand up annoyed

He doesn't say anything and picks up the wipes 'He's so annoying' I think to myself as I watch him struggle to fix himself up cause he was so stubborn to say sorry to me "Ugh" I groan taking it off him and decide to do it myself “I hate you” I remind him not looking at him “Yeah you remind me every 10 minutes” He sarcastically remarks again rolling his eyes

“Here” I hand him my sandwich after I finish cleaning him up but he doesn’t do anything “Open up” I point to his mouth and this time he actually listens “Bite” He does so, then starts chewing when I move away “Eating helps your anger ware off” He nods not caring at all “Sorry for being a d**k” He sighs then looks beside him “Sit” I sit on the chair he points to “I hate you!” I cry whine then hug him “Why are you so stupid and annoying?” He slowly hugs me back letting out a small sigh “He was messing with Summyr” He says quietly as if he was thinking back to the scene too

“Doesn’t mean you had to kill him” I pull back offering it to him again and he takes another bite “I forgot you hated tomatoes” I pull away and open the sandwich “Wait, I don’t care” He tries to say but I pull off the tomatoes and close it again “Better” He takes it from me then offers me my own sandwich “Thanks” I take a bite and he pats my head like a dog “Sorry for being a nuisance” I stick my tongue out at him “You better be” The sides of his lips go up a bit "I am truly"

“I handed in my slip by the way” Minutes had gone past and the atmosphere was back to normal, we decided to just spend lunch in here “Finally” He sighs relived “What’s so great about the camp?” He shrugs “If you and Megan and Lily and Lyra come it would be fun” I push him playfully “Do you want to join the nerds or something?” I reference what he used to call us “No you’d actually have to be smart for that” “I’m going to take that as a compliment” I say earning a shrug from him “Do as you please Gabriella” He says my name but this time it felt different, he always said it like that but every time it would always hold a different meaning - well to me at least...

I kinda loved that he was the only one to say my full name like that, like he saw me as me and not what I paint myself to be ;/

“I’ll tell you some jokes to make you feel better, okay?” “Go on then” I think to myself quickly “What’s the difference between a kid and Wintyr?” He looks at me waiting for the answer “I don’t know, do you?” I smile trying not to burst out laughing at me joke 

“Make an actual joke” He pushes my head and I nod regaining myself “Okay okay” I get myself together “What happens when a frog's car breaks down?” His brows raise “It gets toad away” I bite on my lip so I didn't laugh at my joke again 

“Oh come on” I throw my hands up and down “Try again” He just says “Okay" I frown 

"Okay" I get another one in my head "A man got hit in the head with a coke can, thank goodness it was a soft drink” I see the side of his lips twitch up and down “Was that good?” I ask hopeful “Lame again” He wipes his nose and I sit up thinking again “I’m not good at these” I pout but he shakes his head 

“Go again” He nudges me, more interested than I had thought “Hmm” I rub my chin “What kind of tree has a hand?” He just looks at me again “Some emotion please” He puts on a fake smile “What kind of tree has a hand Gabriella??” I smile widely “A palm tree!” He snorts, I mean I didn't get a full laugh but that was good enough for me 

“I can do better, look” He pulls me to look at him suddenly "Can you give me directions to your heart? I seem to have lost myself in your eyes” He says seriously making my heart flip for real  “Oh my god Wintyr you made me blush!” I truthfully let him know, pushing him away from him "My heart omg" I hold my chest and he just chuckles 

“No wonder everyone falls for you jeez, you’re such a player” “What can I say? I’m a smooth dude” “Very” I hold my cheeks trying to calm them down “You said you were saying a joke, but it didn’t make me laugh” “Relax I’m just joking, that was the joke “So I’m ugly then?” He sticks his tongue out and I copy him “Your words not mine” I go to beat him up but then suddenly an announcement sound comes in interrupting us

“MR KIM WINTYR TO THE PRINCIPLES OFFICE! I REPEAT MR KIM MAKE YOUR WAY TO MY OFFICE NOW” The principle announces and I swallow knowing what this was about “F!ck” Wintyr runs his hand through his hair already getting stressed

We don’t say anything but I could tell he wanted me to follow him so I tail him to the office and without looking back he makes his way in whilst I sit opposite the reception waiting for him. As he walks in, I get worried the principle would notice his cuts but thankfully the cut on his lip made it look like a struggle....i hope

*bell*

The bell sounds indicating we had to go back to class and even though I didn't want to leave I had to be I class or it would affect my attendance 

“Where’s Wintyr?” Lyra asks when I take my seat next to her “Lyra he isn’t even in this class” I get my physics book out looking back at her “I heard the announcement” I sigh “I just hope he doesn't get expelled, he beat up Danny pretty bad and he barely had marks on him” Lyra nods sadly 

“Summmyr has a good twin brother though” I nod agreeing “I agree” 

“Apparently you're dating Wintyr what happened to him?” A random girl, called Sissy and her friends turn back to our table “Mind your business” I snap not in the mood “Wtf you’re a b***h just like him” “What?” My eyebrows shoot up annoyed “Coming from the rats who turned to us” Lyra backs me up and they just give us dirty looks then turn back around ‘This stupid school with stupid people’ 

*bell*

I walk out of class as it ends two hours later and spot a familiar boy leaned on the opposite wall “Wintyr?” Me and Lyra walk to him and he looks up ‘he's angry again’ I knew when he looks up from his phone to us

“I got suspended” He stands straight to walk away but I catch his hand “You waited to tell me that and you're not even going to wait for our reply” He removes his hand from mine “Gabriella, my dad is already going to give it to me, I just didn't want you to worry for me again okay, I’m leaving bye you guys” He turns around again leaving school 

“Stupid jerk didn't even say how long he’d be gone for” I scowl and Lyra sighs next to me “His dad sounds pretty strict” She points out “Mhm a little” We turn to walk to our last class but this time Cole catches up to us 

“Oh hi” I say surprised and notice Lyra continuing to walk giving us alone time “Hey, is Wintyr alright?” He asks worriedly “Mhm, sorry about his little outburst, he was just angry” Cole nods “When he’s angry, does he get violent with you too?” My eyes widen “What do you mean? God no, I’ve never even seen him that mad Cole, jeez Cole, he would never touch a woman” I answer now getting angry at his insinuation “Sorry Gabby, I just got scared, I didn't mean any harm” I wave him off knowing he only meant well 

Are you going to come visit me?

My phone buzzes and I look down to Wintyr’s text “Who’s that?” Cole asks and I look up quickly “No one” I switch my phone off “Please don’t be mad at me Gabby” I smile shaking my head “I can’t be mad at you Cole” “Good” He smiles back taking my hand “Let me walk you to class” I nod having a fan girl moment in my head as he walks me to class tucking my phone away

“How long are you gone for?” I sit at the island watching Wintyr clean the kitchen as part of his punishment “Until the end of the week, but Derek’s party if we don't see each other, we can go to that together” I snicker eating the dumpling Mrs Kim had made me cause Wintyr let her know I was coming 

Wintyr was obviously grounded but since I was 'dating' him, he was allowed to be with me even though I was confused cause I’m pretty sure they knew our relationship was fake but it’s something I was too awkward to bring up again 

“Don’t miss me too much okay?” I scrunch my face “I’m actually glad you’re gone I can focus again” He rolls his eyes “Pahlease” He moves onto washing the dishes 

“Cole came looking for you” I let him know but he continues as if I didn't say anything “Cole came-" "Yeah I heard" He interrupts my repeated sentence "He was just worried” I continue “Cool, whatever” He just says not caring at all

“I apologised to him for you then he walked me to class” I hear Wintyr scoff “He’s even doing my job, great” Wintyr sarcastically remarks “And he held my hand” I squeal smelling my hand and I see Wintyr shaking his head at me

“What? You're not happy for me?” He kills my mood “Of course I am” He forces a smile and I scowl “If that had been Ruby, I’d be happy for you!” I say and he waves his hand "I'm happy for you bro" I smile again

“By the way, who’s Derek?” I ask eating and standing up to feed him a dumpling too 

“A friend who has a party this Friday” I nod walking back to my seat “Is Cole gonna be there?” “Yup” He answers and I smile “Then I’ll go” “What about Ruby, is she?” “You know she's a party animal, that’s why you two suit so much” I compliment him and he gives me a goofy grin "You know me so well"

“I hate parties though” “But you’ll come right? It’s the perfect opportunity to get them to notice us” I rub my chin then nod “Good” “Since you're grounded, how comes you can go?” “I can't I just told my parents, I’m going to your house that night” My jaw drops now realising why he wanted me there so bad “That’s why you needed me there right?” He nods proudly 

“JERK!” I shout and he laughs evilly “I’m leaving early” I get up picking my bag up 

“Uh uh uh uh” Wintyr stops what he’s doing and a small smile comes onto my face “Take it back” I cross my hands over my chest “I really can’t but I do want you here, now” I smile sheepishly “Cause I’ll get bored obviously” He adds and my smile drops "Bye" I turn but he quickly blocks my way "I'm only joking pabo" He pinches my nose but I smack him off "Fine" I drop my bag again “But I’m only staying cause I feel sorry for how stupid you are” He rolls his eyes going back to his tasks “My plasters fell off so I need new ones” He states and I nod going out to find some more
