Sienna Vale never planned on being anyone's fiancé. She was an escort, paid to play the role of Julian Blackwell's secret girlfriend. A simple contract to impress his powerful family and secure his inheritance.

But nothing about the Blackwell family is simple.

The moment she meets Richard Blackwell, Julian’s father and the patriarch of the empire, she feels an irresistible pull. One man promised her money and security, but the other awakened a hunger she couldn't control. Why settle for one Blackwell, when you could have them both?

Soon, the desire and hunger turns dangerous. Sienna finds herself pregnant and Julian believing the child is his, softened into the husband she never expected him to be. But the secret weighs more each passing day. Because the child she carries belongs not to Julian, but his father.

When her affair with the Blackwell patriarch explodes into the open, Sienna braces herself for ruin, but that wasn't the case. Richard Blackwell swore never to let go, instead he declares war on his own son. He vows to keep Sienna at all cost, even if it means losing his entire family.

Now caught between two powerful men, and one devastating truth, Sienna must play the most dangerous role of her life.

The First Meeting
“You look beautiful tonight,” his trembling voice said. Flashing him a plastic smile, she wrapped her arms around his waist. “It's all thanks to you sweetheart.” She straightened his shirt, as the elevator came to a stop. They both stepped into the ballroom. The ballroom shimmered with wealth and power. These were the people controlling the city. It feels good to be in this room. Sienna Vale knew how to make heads turn in every room she stepped into. Not with forced laughter or unnecessary pleasantries like most of the wives and girlfriends of the men in this room. No. The slow rhythm of her body movement, her extremely revealing clothing, her beautiful smile, her curves. They say nobody is perfect, wait till you meet Sienna Vale. She knows she's a catch. The men in the room couldn't stop staring. Six months ago, she was just a regular twenty-six-year old, who once juggled unpaid bills and ramen diners. She was drowning in debt. Today she was a completely different woman, still in debt but she was living. Being an escort has changed her life. Her client, an oil importer with thinning hair and wandering eyes, had insisted she wear something dazzling for the Bloom charity gala. He hadn't flinched when she swiped his card at the boutique and at the jewelry store. She could get used to this. Her client, Marco Denvari, droned on about shipping routes and how bad the market has been lately. His words melted into the background as she raised her champagne glass to her lips. She smiled and nodded, when he turned to her, laughing softly at his weak jokes. She felt a pair of eyes digging into her soul. Someone was staring right at her and she couldn't figure out who it was, in a room this full. “Marco, you made it,” an older man in his early seventies walked up to them. He gave Marco a tight hug. “It's so good to have you around.” “Likewise, you outdid yourself on this one,” Marco said. “This is Sienna, my date. This is Roderick Bloom, our host.”He introduced them. Sienna flashed her disarming smile, stretching her hands, Roderick took it and planted a kiss on it. “It's so nice to meet you, this place is exquisite.” “Thank you Sienna.” He then turned to Marco, and they discussed business for a while, after which he left to greet other guests. “Excuse me a moment,” Marco muttered, distracted by a colleague waving him over. Sienna nodded sweetly as he huddled away, already thinking of the extra thousand she would demand later for leaving her by herself in the midst of these strangers. As she walked to the table to grab another glass, she locked eyes with a young man across the room. She knew who he was, the one and only Julian Blackwell. He was heir to the Blackwell dynasty. Spoiled brat with a disturbing personality. She couldn't stand him. Julian’s mouth curved into the faintest smirk as he surveyed the room. Sienna walked to the table, grabbed a glass of champagne, when she noticed he was walking towards her. Her grip around the glass tightened. He walked like he owned the room, his slow prowl exuded pride and self awareness. People said hello as he made his way towards her. Up close, he looked perfect, breathtaking and hot. The magazines never did justice to the image right in front of her. His light brown hair gave the wet effect, like he had just got out of the shower. His ocean blue eyes were intimidating. “That dress looks good on you, I could bet he paid for it,” he smiled. “I guess there's no need for an introduction since you already know who I am.” Cocky Bastard. She thought to herself. “I wish I did, who are you again?” She raised a brow, completely uninterested in whatever he had to say. An anger began to stir inside of him. Cheap b***h. “If you read the papers, or own a TV, you should know who I am.” He tried to conceal his anger with a sly smile. “Unfortunately, I don't read the papers,” she wasn't in the mood for small talk. He moved closer to her, the expensive smell of oud and sandalwood filled her lungs. “You have a thing for older men?” “What are you talking about?” “Your date, how much did he pay you?” His breath brushed her ear. “Who are you again?” Her tone was upset. “Forgive my manners,” he stretched out his hand for a handshake. “I’m Julian Blackwell, the chief operating officer of the Blackwell enterprise.” Sienna smiled and walked away, leaving him standing there with his hand hanging in the air. She's got no time to deal with a grown man with an attitude. “Please wait, I'm sorry.” She heard him call out behind her. She stopped, tilting her head. “ And what is it you want Mr. Blackwell? Surely you didn't cross the ballroom to exchange gossip.” A flicker crossed his eyes. “You don't waste time sugarcoating. I like that.” He studied her as though weighing his possibilities, then with a shocking bluntness he said, “how much?” Her lips parted. “Excuse me?” For a second, she thought he meant what every man meant when he whispered those words. Unlike other men, Julian's Express held no leer, only calculated intensity. “Not in bed,” he clarified, his voice dropping lower. “My family is hosting a little dinner party for my sister and I want you to come with me. All you have to do is act like my girlfriend. Laugh at my jokes, pretend you're hopeless in love with me.” Sienna blinked, caught off guard by his request. “You want me to act like your girlfriend?” “That shouldn't be a problem for you because that's what you do.” He sounded cocky. “Just play the role of a happy girlfriend. I'll pay double.” Now that made her smile. Money was the only thing that made her attentive. “That’s not exactly a request I get everyday.” “You'll soon find that I'm not an everyday kind of man.” Sienna swirled her champagne, considering. The numbers spun in her mind, rent, debt, savings she never seemed to grow. Her mum was sick and she needed all the money she could get. “Okay then Julian, I'm down. I'll give you my card and we'll talk about my rates tomorrow.” She opened her purse and handed him a small black card. That was her business number. He nodded. “I'd love that.” She heard footsteps behind her. “Baby, I've been looking everywhere for you, are you okay?” That was Marco. He came behind her and wrapped his hand around her waist. Marking his territory. Julian smiles, “Alright then, I'll call you.” She nodded, sipping her drink. “Can we go now?” She turned to Marco. These dinners were usually boring especially for someone like her who had nothing to say. On their way to the hotel, her mind kept going back to Julian Blackwell's request. A voice in her head kept telling her it was a bad idea, but what could possibly go wrong with a man like Julian. All she needed to do was do as she was told and get paid. Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
