MIKA Exhaustion weighs heavily on me as Channing and I pull into the driveway. I’m full, my body feels drained and all I want is to curl up in bed. Dinner was wonderful, but after eating, Mom, the girls and I spent time packing my things so that everything would be ready for the movers in the morning, and that wore me out. Channing offered to assist, but I refused to let him lift a finger. Instead, he spent the evening chatting with my father while we figured everything out. Before we get out of the car, he pulls out his phone and calls his mother, and I lean back against the seat, listening as he tells her we won't be stopping by tonight as planned.
