My eyes widen at the sheer size of Channing’s family home as he pulls into the driveway. The mansion is sprawling, and timeless, with immaculately manicured gardens surrounding it. The driveway alone feels longer than a street, lined with tall trees that sway gently in the evening breeze.
"Wow," I say, taking everything in. "Your home is beatiful," I add, and Channing smiles. “Thank you… you ready to go in?” he asks, and I tell him I am even though I’m not. I’m intimidated. I knew his family was wealthy; after all, I worked for them, but standing in front of this place makes it hit different.
Channing parks, and before I can dwell on it, he’s already around my side, opening the door for me.
