Chapter 4

It was 4 a.m when my alarm rang , I was no longer switching it off and going back to sleep like I used to , instead , I turned it off and hurried out of my bed to go looking for my younger sister to prepare for school . When we were done preparing we went downstairs and were surprised by the aroma that met us on our way downstairs , my mom has prepared a delicious breakfast for us , hopefully to make up for last night.

" hey girls , how did you two sleep " , she asked a bit anxiously , maybe thinking we will ignore her

" I slept like a princess mommy , I was riding a unicorn in my dream " , my little sister answered cheerfully

" that is because you are a princess darling " , my mother answered with the same cheerful mood , " and how about you , Diana ? " , she asked

" I slept great mom " , I answered , keeping it short , I went over to the dining area and found my seat , I sat down and waited for everyone to come . My mom came to dish up and called everyone else as they were taking too long to come down , my dad came down , followed by Mason , they said their ' good morning ' and we started eating . It was very quiet in the table , which was unusual , " sorry about yesterday kids " , my mother broke the silence , " we were going to get some dinner and we got carried away and went into some club , we are really sorry we didn't say anything " , my mother continued sadly , " it's okay mom , it's not big of a deal , I mean , I managed to make us dinner " , I replied reassuringly

" aren't you such a big girl " , my dad said with tear filled eyes , I was still angry at him but not too angry now as Duncan didn't run away , as if on cue , I got a text and when I picked my phone up to check who it was from , the name ' Duncan ' flashed on my screen and I smiled when I saw the message , " Good morning sunshine " , I composed myself not to blush as it would raise certain questions I wouldn't want to answer , as they would cause a bit of a conflict and I don't want that , not in this good mood I am in , with my phone in my hand , I stood up and took my school bag

" I've got to go now " , I gave them each a kiss on the cheek and left to catch my bus.

" morning handsome " , I replied, I was flustered at this moment , I didn't even notice my bus was right in front of me until I heard it's horn , startled , I went on the bus and headed for my seat , Aggy was not on the bus , why is she not on the bus again ? , I was a bit worried so I took out my phone and texted her , she told me she was at the doctor and that she will see me soon at school , I was about to text her when I got a text from Duncan , let me not worry now , she will tell me what is wrong when we meet . I opened the text , " how are you ? , I can't wait to see you " , he said

" me too " , I replied , a bit too excited, who am I kidding ? , I was wayyy too excited. The bus came to a stop and I went off and as soon as I got off , I saw my best friend waiting for me , " hey Aggy , what was wrong , are you okay ? " , I asked , worry shown on my face , " I am good , it was a bit of a stomach bug , I am fine now , the doctor gave me some medication " , she said with a smile , wiping my worried face off , " okay babe " , I said on our way to class , on the hallway, I texted Duncan telling him I was going to class and that we will talk during lunch or after school.

Three lessons passed and it was lunch time , me and Aggy met at the cafeteria to get our food , " what are you having " , the lady at the cafeteria asked , she is new so I didn't know her name , " I'll have a chicken wrap with some fries and a soda , thank you " , she smiled and gave me my lunch, she looked at Aggy , " what about you young miss ? " , she asked her politely , " I'll have the same , thank you " , she returned her smile , the lovely lady dished up for her and we went to find a seat . we had our lunch and talked about what happened yesterday as she didn't get the whole story on the phone , I didn't get to text Duncan as it was already time to go to the next class , I guess after school it is then.

It was now after school , I looked for Aggy so we could go to the bus stop and I found her waiting for me , I rushed to her and we got in the bus , I texted Duncan that I was on my way home , we talked for a while and I didn't even realize I was smiling , I heard Aggy clear her throat loudly , which made me turn to her

" You are in love girl , you can't even hear a word I said " , she said

" Sorry girl , what were you saying ? " , I replied

" nothing much , you can continue smooching , it's okay... I'll pretend you are not here " , she said with a smirk

" No friend , it's not like that , I'm all yours now , I promise " , I put my phone away and gave her all my attention

she asked me about Duncan and I told her everything about him , his looks , how he was with me and all , except , he hasn't asked me out yet , what was wrong with this guy ?
