The brothers were quiet during the drive. Todd could feel his brother's anger and was too afraid to say anything. Even after Mitch parked the car near the emergency room entrance, Todd made sure to walk a few paces behind, hoping to escape his brother's wrath. The last thing he needed was to be told how stupid and irresponsible he was. He heard it enough from their parents on a fairly regular basis.
Of course, Mitch's silence said it anyway. He knew his brother refused to talk to him because he blamed Todd for dragging him into the situation, even though he was trying to do the right thing for a change.
