Todd had an instant dislike for the man. He was obviously on a power trip and liked to throw his weight around. The others probably only listened to him because they were afraid of him. Kyle was a big man, muscled and intimidating.
They joined the rest of the group and Kyle immediately went to the last cell at the end of the hall and motioned for them to get out. They obeyed, all of them showing their confusion. He then went to Katelyn and before the girl could react, he took Ariel out of her arms, handing the child to Todd.
“Hey, what are you–” but she wasn't given the chance to finish. Kyle had picked her up and carried her inside the cell, leaving her there and slamming the door with a clang that almost shook the whole building.
