11 Katelyn proved to be an irritating companion during the long drive to the police station. Todd recognized the early symptoms of withdrawal, and he sympathized with her, but that didn't make her any less annoying. He'd noticed the sweating when they first saw her outside, but that could easily be explained by the heat or because trying to claw his eyes out had been a physically taxing endeavor.
