Chapter 02

Meanwhile, Timothy, after being a kidn*pped and glimpsing upon a unnatural sight, he walks a little to look, but seeing as dead Brian rushed away into the dark with a unusual speed, he decides to stop and head back into the road. As he reached the road, there appears to be no vehicles for miles.

He takes his phone out and when trying to look where he is, or to call someone, there isn't any signal at all. After tapping the phone to gain signal for a while, Timothy walks down the road through a random direction, hoping to find a ride.

Even after walking for miles, there isn't any, but as he gets tired of walking and lies down resting, he hears a sound of something coming. Timothy looks behind in surprise to see a vehicle heading towards his direction at a further distance, this gives him a chance to prepare himself to ask for a lift using the common gesture.

But as the vehicle gets close, it storms away in super speed at the sight of him without stopping at all. "Hey! hey stop! come on man!" screams Tim only to get no responses. After nearly walking to a point where he couldn't take another step, he rests down again in the middle of the road.

Soon he hears a vehicle approaching at the opposite side this time, realising the vehicle wouldn't stop if he asked for a lift, he decides to sleep on the road to see if they stop for that. Meanwhile inside the vehicle, Selina, with Irene and Afreen are heading towards their home after having their annual girl's night out, this time far away from their town.

"I can't believe it, that was amazing." said Selina. "Amazing is a understatement, it was way more than that, can't believe I slept in a park in the middle of the night." said Irene to which everyone chuckles. "You're lucky, the cops didn't arrest you." said Afreen. "They wouldn't... if we show them the right moves." said Irene to which both Selina and Irene laugh but Afreen finds it a bit awkward.

"I sort of.. well, I miss our town mostly, last year trip was fun." said Afreen. "Last year was a disaster, they made us stay in Brampton for the pandemic, which is the only reason why we had the trip there." said Irene. "And the concert at the park, can you believe it? it was dreadful, I felt like yelling at them, but didn't cuz it was a kid's concert." said Selina.

"Me too, maybe Afreen likes it, because she got to spend time, glancing at a cute sight." said Irene. "Cute sight?" asked Selina. "Shut up, Irene, it's nothing, she got drunk again." said Afreen. "No, no, do tell, what cute sight do you mean?" asked Selina. "Okay, sure, remember Tim from school, the new kid?" asked Irene.

"Guys, please stop, it's nothing, how long do we have to go?" asked Afreen. "A little bit, just a few little.." said Selina which Irene screams upon seeing Tim at the distance as they pedal the brakes inches from him.

Shocked and speechless, their muscle doesn't move a inch, until Afreen removes her seltbelt and gets out of the vehicle to check. "Afreen, wait, don't go alone." said Irene who gets out too and joins as Afreen is shocked further to find it's a same Tim she knew, lying inches away from the car with a similar scared expression they had.

"Oh my god.. Tim?" asked Irene to which Tim immediately recongizes and opens his eyes and gets up. Looking at the front of the car inches away from him, he takes a few steps back from it, then gets up and looks at the girls, whom he doesn't recongizes. "Do I know you?" asked Tim.

"Everyone knows who you are, what the hell are you doing here, we could have killed you.." said Irene as Selina gets out of the vehicle after relieving herself from the shock. "I'm sorry, I had to pick a ride (Selina approaches him and starts engaging at him to which Afreen tries to stop) woah, woah, what." said Tim as he's being hit until Afreen pulls her away.

"Out of all the cars, you picked my one to die, you i***t! I could have gone to jail!" said Selina. "Yeah, and I could have died, big shock." said Tim."Why didn't you just wave your hand, Tim? we wouldn't have stopped for you." said Afreen. "I did, earlier, but no one stopped, I had been walking for god knows how long.." said Tim before getting interrupted by Irene.

"What are you doing here in the first place, this is miles away from Brampton, how did you even get here?" asked Irene. "I got kidn*pped, okay?" said Tim. "kidn*pped, by who?" asked Selina. "It was.. well.. I don't know, I guess, they were wearing masks." said Tim. "Are they close by?" asked Afreen.

"s**t, we have to run if they are." said Selina. "No, no, they uhmm... they left, second thoughts maybe, I don't know." said Tim. "So, a group of people kidn*pped you, drove you all the way across here, then had second thoughts and dropped you out?" asked Irene.

"Yeah... I think? look, important thing we need to understand is that we're safe, and well. not injured." said Tim. "So, you want a lift, I suppose?" asked Selina. "Yes, please, I'm exhausted." said Tim to which the girls look upon each other.

"Give us a minute please." said Selina to which Tim nods, then starts walking away and waits at a distance. "I can't believe it, one minute, we're talking about him, next minute you know, he's right at the end of our car." said Irene. "At least, it is Tim, not one of the jerks at the school." said Afreen as she begins to notice Selina distracted looking at Tim.

"Hey!" yells Afreen with a snap. "Oh, sorry, you were saying." said Selina. "What? why did you look that way?" asked Afreen. "Nothing, it's just." said Selina. "Girls, are you even listening to what I'm saying." said Irene. "Yes, we are, Irene, we were talking and boom, he's here." said Selina. "Here? yeah, here (pointing at the road on the end of the car) he was right here! you could have killed him." said Afreen.

"But I didn't, besides, it's going to be quite a first meet." said Selina with a shy smile. "You've got to be kidding me." said Afreen. "She's doing that look, why is she doing that look again?" asked Irene.

"What look?" asked Selina. "The look you do when you're about to cheat on someone." said Irene. "Hmm, aren't I single now?" said Selina continuing her look upon Tim. "Hey! (snaps again at Selina) we're in a situation here, you need to decide something, this can wait." said Afreen.

"Besides, you can't fall for someone like him." said Irene. "What's wrong with him?" asked Selina and Afreen in chorus, then look at each other's face. "I mean.. well.. he's a.. here look at the way he stands." said Irene pointing out to Tim turned away, attempting to exercise himself from his injures.

"So?" asked Selina. "Well. there isn't a single piece of muscle there." said Irene. "God, Irene, you're so old fashioned, it isn't about.." said Selina before getting interrupted by Afreen. "Guys! please, we need to reach a decision, we can discuss this later if you want." said Afreen.

"Oh, yes we do." said Selina as he teasingly touch Afreen, then walks towards Tim. "What? did she.. oh my gosh, I can't believe it." said Irene. "I know right, she was just celebrating her independence from Jacob, now this?" said Afreen to which Irene becomes concerned. "What?" asked Irene.

"What?" asked Afreen. "You said something about Jacob." said Irene. "Yeah, she had a thing going on with Jacob." said Afreen. "How long?" asked Irene. "About a couple of months, why are you... oh, oh, my, Jacob." said Afreen. "Selina was having a thing, with my boyfriend?" asked Irene.

"I'm so sorry, but hey, it broke up, I swear, nothing happened, don't bring it up please." said Afreen as Selina approaches them with Tim. "Hey guys, Tim will be driving with us, hope you don't mind, okay, go sit in the back." said Selina with a smile but notices Irene shock upon her. "What?" asked Selina.

"You, were having.." said Irene before getting silenced by Afreen when she coughs on purpose. "Sorry, I've been having dry coughs lately." said Afreen to which everyone looks at her. "Uhmm, it's not Corona, I swear, my tests came negative." said Afreen. "Okay, sit in the back please, Tim, come on." said Selina as she leads Tim onto the car.

"Come on, we can discuss this later." said Afreen as she leads Irene onto the car. Moments pass, as they start driving ahead with nothing but pure silence except for Selina's constant glimpse upon Tim which he finds a bit weird and also becomes irritating to Afreen who witness this all from behind.

"Do you guys have signal on your phones? I need to grab a call." asked Tim to which Selina takes her phone checks while Afreen struggles to take her phone from her pocket. When she successfully takes it out, she sees Selina handing her phone to Tim who takes it immediately and starts calling while Selina is staring at him.

As phone rings, Tim looks over to Selina and lands a awkward smile, then his phone is finally answered. "Hello? Mom?" asked Tim. "Tim, is that you? honey where are you?" asked his mother on the phone.

"I got kidn*pped, but I'm fine now, I'm arriving." said Tim. "You got what?" asked mother in a loud tone which Tim finds a bit embarrassed.

"Mom, please, tone down, I'm alright, I'm safe, this is my.. uhmm friends number, they found me, it's okay." said Tim.
