Chapter 38

"That's one way of putting it, Welcome to Canada folks." said Agent Jessica. "What the hell happened here?" asked one of the associates. "An inmate broke out, we're tracking her down, hopefully we'll be able to catch her, don't tell me this never happens to you." said Agent Jessica. "It does, sadly, quite alot in number, but never did a single inmate escape result in this much destruction." said one of the associates. "Well, what can I say? she's pretty powerful one, come on." said Agent Jessica as she leads the associates through the headquarters. "So far, most threats we deal in result in small scale attacks past year, so, Sebastian had most of our resources deployed to elsewhere lands where they could put themselves into use, but that was last year." said Agent Jessica as she leads through the hall and heads downstairs through the elevator, which appears to be half organic thanks to Fatima, but as it is made operational by the repair crew, she uses it to head upstairs with the associates. "What about this year then? what do deal with on a monthly basis?" asked one of the associates. "Mostly Jinns encounter here and there on a often basis, but other than that, we have lake monsters, Karelias and night hounds, you name it." said Agent Jessica. "So, bottom line is, you're outnumbered by the threats you face?" asked the associate. "Heavily, sure I got enough replicant soldiers, but they are soldiers, not ones with superpowers." said Agent Jessica. "Jessica, I understand your situation you're dealing with, facing supernatural threats with just soldiers can be difficult, but there are other stations, like the base stationed in Turkey where soldiers are enough, you should be lucky to have a Jinn by your side comparing to them, infact, why don't you try cloning the Jinn instead?" asked another associate. "We did actually, managed to fabricate both the DNA of Khayun and Timothy combined and managed to create a replicate, who is in a cell now, and trust me when I say putting that guy on the field is like having a knife on our throat." said Agent Jessica. "Then there might be some other resolutions to this, we can't simply take our enhanced agents to come play in Canada while they're country burn." said another associate. "And I'm not asking you to, look, many enhanced agents as you put it, had been extracted from Canada to overseas, like Japan, Mexico, and still, I haven't been able to get a hold of them because they're either dead, or busy getting killed." said Agent Jessica. "An unfortunate incident, but there's nothing we can do about it." said a associate. "Yes we can, project BiOWEAPON was designed for instances like this." said Agent Jessica. "You think something that could turn polluted water into clean one can bring the dead back to life?" asked another associate. "It hasn't been successful on humans, but maybe it'll work on dead Mayfires, who knows?" asked Agent Jessica. "We cannot afford to work on mere theories, we need actual facts." said another associate. "Yep, and facts will only arrive if theoretical solutions form a successful conclusion, why can't you understand this?" asked Agent Jessica. "Look, Agent Jessica, we get it, dead bodies, what help can they do right? that's what you're thinking right now, but what you don't understand is that these very bodies you experiment on might cause a severe issue that you're currently dealing with, if you know what I'm saying?" asked the associate. "You're worried I'll make zombie monsters? well, gentlemen, I won't, as long as I'm in control of this station, nothing rational will never let loose, and like you said, if this turns out to be bad, I'll shut down the project myself, but at least we must try once." said Agent Jessica. "We'll let know you soon once we're briefed with our superiors, is that enough?" asked the associate. "Fine, but be sure to reply on that as soon as possible, I don't think I can hold out on this much longer without backup, as you could have seen in the entrance." said Agent Jessica. "About that, Jessica, what's this I hear about you sending Timothy Blake, the only resourceful asset you have, on vacation? how are you able to afford that exactly?" asked another associate. "Tim isn't on vacation, he's taking a break, he requested for it after working two years straight for us, and I'm giving it." said Agent Jessica. "This is rather pathetic is it? you can't afford soldiers you have, yet you're giving some of your favourites a break time." said another associate. "Let me make this clear, the very reason why Las Vegas situation didn't go out of control was because of Timothy Blake, the soldiers you sent got civilans killed while my man was busy taking down the real threat, you're welcome for that by the way." said Agent Jessica. "That was a uhm... unintended consequence." said another associate. "Yeah, and so this is, look, I can stay here and talk all day about why I'm thin on resources and how sending Timothy Blake on break was the best course of action, but apparently, I don't have time, like you guys, I'm sure people like you can't wait to say no to people, but not me, everyday of my career, I work my a*s out to make future we have a future to look forward to." said Agent Jessica as one of the scientists approach inside once he starts to knock and Agent Jessica nods to come in. "We came here to help you, we're your only chance of getting the resources you need." said the associate. "Looks to be like, you only came here to say no, thank you for your time gentlemen, but I have work to attend to now." said Agent Jessica as he opens the door in order to send them out. One by one, the associates go with displeased faces, except for the one who agreed to help her who shakes her hand upon leaving. "You're a good soldier Jessica, do not worry, I'll try my best to make them hear." said the associate. "Thank you ma'am." said Agent Jessica as she bids her goodbye and turns towards the scientist as they left. "You're back, how did it go?" asked Agent Jessica as she drinks a cup of water after talking for a while. "We're done ma'am, all set and ready to go, we could have run a test with Sharon, but her escape forced us to make Khayun and Timothy Blake our only hope of test." said the scientist. "Let's hope it works, for his sake." said Agent Jessica. Meanwhile at Mark's house where he had slept while watching television. Timothy arrives by the entrance and rushes onto knocking the door which wakes up Mark who wakes up despite being tired. "In a minute.." said Mark as Tim is continusly knocking which seems to irritate Mark further as he rushes towards the door. "Enough with the knock man, you wanna to bathroom or something?" asked Mark as he opens the door and finds himself breath taken to see Tim again. "Tim?" asked Mark. "Hey Mark, long time no see, listen, I need a small favour." said Tim as he races into his house and becomes shocked to see his house in such a untidy condition. "Man, it seems like something died in here, you've been always living in this dump?" asked Tim. "It wasn't always a dump, wait, just give a minute, hmm, how the hell are you here again?" asked Mark. "Long story short, I got kidn*pped by a bunch of dudes who wanted me to do stuffs like taking down weird monsters and hacking s**t, after two years, they gave me a vacation mission to go back to Ceylan to which, I need my laptop first, I checked it all around the corner, was willing to talk with the one person I gave access to, but hey, wait a minute, I have Mark, I thought, so I came here, hey Mark." said Tim. "First of all, what? what do you mean missions? you mean there are other monsters like Sensei, and who are these people, why did they take your laptop?" asked Mark. "They didn't take my laptop Mark, they took me, so, bottom line is, I work for them now, and keep in mind they're the good guys, not creepy ones that'll lock you in Area 51, got it?" asked Tim. "How did you come across them again?" asked Mark. "It's a long story, but I need my laptop Mark, and to find my laptop, I need your help, your equipment mostly, but your help would.. you know, help, now, where do you keep your techy stuffs?" asked Tim. "In the basement, listen man, there is something I need to, wait, Tim, where are you going?" asked Mark. "To find your basement, Jesus, look at your couch, wait, were you sleeping on it, urgh.." said Tim. "Stop talking s**t about my house's hygiene, and Tim, just wait!" yelled Mark to which Tim pauses. "What?" asked Tim. "For two years, two freakin years, you've gone missing, people thought you were dead, some thought you were kidn*pped, not to mention your uncle and Aunt..." said Mark before getting interrupted by Tim. "No bigge, I just talked with them before coming here." said Tim. "Shut up!" yelled Mark. "Okay, sure." said Tim as he comforts Mark and gives him a bro hug. "I'm sorry, okay? if I had a way to contact you, I would have, but these guys made sure to remind me, the only way I'll return home is if I finish their tasks, which I had, and now I'm here, but now, someone took my laptop, I could have asked Maggy, now that I think about it, but I wanted to see you, my old pal again, remember all the time we had?" asked Tim.
