It was nine in the evening at the Smith’s. After the discovery of Prim’s departure, none of them were in the mood for dinner. Will drove off without telling Nora or Diana. He was pissed that no one followed his drift and, as a father, though, he was not the best---he hoped for a proper goodbye between them. Will could never blame Prim if she saw her marriage as an opportunity for her to disassociate herself from the family she grew up with, but she was never given equal treatment. They never heard anything from her, and it was only when she was forced to take Diana's place to marry was the first and the last time that she voiced out her disagreement with the plan that Nora had come up with at the last minute.
