I did not expect to enjoy their company. Indeed, the old adage that implied not judging a book by its cover proved to be true. Isabel and my current sisters-in-law are awesome people. They were polite, and they never made me feel like I did not belong to their circle.
The wives of Archie’s brothers both came from prominent families, but they were not like the other mean elitists I'd seen while I was working in the retail industry.
The food was nice, and it was past one in the afternoon already, though I was not worried about Aspen because Maya was on duty, and she promised to peek often and Ollie was there----I was there to keep my end of the bargain.
