Chapter 6The dorm buildings rose up through the forest, massive concrete structures, mostly gray except where moss has established a dark green foothold. Three police cars blocked the driveway in front of D dorm. Pam and I came up the path around the side and could see the cars and the police officers setting up barricades. A campus security car was parked just ahead of the police cars and right past that was an ambulance. Pam charged forward but I caught her hand. “Wait!” She struggled in my grip. “Pam!” I got her attention. She looked at me with wide eyes.
