The Turned Queen

Scarlett was walking down the alley when she heard noises from far away. Scarlett's hearing range was wider than any other normal vampire. When she was turned, the royal bloodline of her mate which was the strongest among the supernatural creatures. The noises were getting louder by each step she was taking. She could smell two vampires and one another smell which seemed familiar to her -the smell wasn't as strong as the other two vampires.

Scarlett figured the other one was in trouble when a strong smell of sweet blood hit her nose, her normal grey eyes turned red with a tint of silver swirling around the deep red. She rushed towards the source and saw a figure laying down -blood rushing out of his wound causing her nerves to wreck in. She didn't even give another thought as she kicked away the vampire who was hovering over the injured figure. She was so fast that the other two vampires were taken by surprise. She was losing her control as her movements turned wild. The other one tried to punch Scarlett which she dodged and did a quick right hook before throwing him on the wall, which cracked and the wall collapsed on the guy. She gave her all to control herself but her fangs were looking for blood. "You.." a soft whisper helped Scarlett regain her senses as she looked down at the injured figure. She quickly held the injured guy and used her powers to teleport directly in her house.

After they both teleported she looked down at the figure and realized that it was the same guy she bumped in the shopping mart, the same guy who tried to snatch her instant noodles. Scarlett knew he was a half vampire so his healing time was longer.

"Hey...you... Hey wake up. Are you alright?" she crouched down and tried to pick him up but the wound was getting affected. He opened his emerald green eyes and looked at Scarlett's deep red eyes, upon seeing the familiar girl, his lips crooked in a small smile -an oddly warm smile.

Scarlett couldn't think of anything to help him so she did the only logical thing she could think of, she bit her right wrist as deep red blood started dripping from her cut which she shoved in his mouth by pinching his mouth open by her left hand. His emerald eyes lit up as he took a big gulp of her blood. His wound started to heal faster as Scarlett pulled her hands away from him.

"Are you alright?" Scarlett asked as the guy spoke in low voice.

"I'm okay now." The guy looked down to inspect his wound and was shocked to see that he was already healed, no sign of any injury, no scars, nothing at all was visible but his shirt was soiled with his own blood.

"I didn't realize you were a vampire when we last met." he smiled at Scarlett.

"After all you are only a half vampire." Scarlett stood up and offered her hand to him, "Get up, half vamp."

"Riordan De Luca." he looked up at Scarlett and took her hands as Scarlett pulled him up and dragged him towards the couch.

"Scarlett Stanwood. Never thought I'd run into you in such a way. Sit down and rest for a while." Riordan nodded, "Neither did I." Riordan spoke while sitting on the couch while looking around her house.

"Because you are only a half. Your abilities are limited." Scarlett stared at him as he smiled brightly at Scarlett.

"Seeing how you can teleport, you sure are one of the strongest among us. Your abilities are amazing."

Scarlett sighed, "I know right."

Riordan turned to Scarlett, his emerald green eyes now glowing in the dim light of the hall room.

"Thank you for saving my life, Scarlett."

Scarlett glanced at him, "You owe me a big one dude." Scarlett spoke with a blank face as she controlled over her powers, her sharp fangs disappeared as her deep red eyes returned back to her usual grey eyes with a tint of silver.

"You are not really good at controlling. You weren't taught properly, were you?" Riordan asks as Scarlett froze at his question, her eyes lost the glimmer of life.

Riordan observed her carefully and figured something was up with her.

A creek sound erupted as both Scarlett and Riordan turned to look at the small figure holding a cherry cushion in her left hand while rubbing her eyes by her right.

"Sis, you are back. I waited for you but fell asleep." she spoke while yawning, her sleepy face looked very cute as Riordan smiled at her. "Hello little girl, What's your name?" Nicole walked closer towards them and finally noticed a guy sitting on the couch. "Brother, you are so handsome." Nicole spoke in awe as Scarlett snorted while Riordan grinned at Nicole.

"Great genes, I guess. Come here." Riordan gestured Nicole to sit beside him which Nicole gladly did.

"Brother, what's your name?"

"I'm Riordan De Luca. what's your name?"

"I'm Nicole, Nicole Le Mart." Riordan turned to look at Scarlett in confusion. Nicole had a different last name than Scarlett's and it puzzled Riordan but Scarlett didn't care to explain, after all she just met this guy and it is none of his business.

"Sis, is he your boyfriend?" Nicole grinned at Scarlett while Scarlett choked on the water she was drinking.

Riordan laughed at Scarlett's response.

"No Nicole, we are just friends, aren't we?" Riordan turned to Scarlett while Scarlett raised her left eyebrow at him while he grinned at her sheepishly.

"I guess." Knowing a half vampire wasn't anything wrong but Scarlett didn't knew who he really was.

Nicole yawned as Scarlett stood up and picked her up,

"Let's get you to bed. You have school tomorrow." Nicole nodded as she turned towards Riordan.

"Big brother, are you gonna stay?"

Riordan smiled as he made a puppy face and looked at Scarlett, "Your big sis won't kick me out in the middle of the night, will she?" Scarlett shook her head at his childish behavior and walked in Nicole's room as Riordan waited for her.

Riordan looked around her two bedroom apartment, although it was small it was cozy and the apartment gave off a vibe of home. It was decorated like any normal house should be. Scarlett always liked simple things. Riordan noticed how the house didn't had any photo frame. It was odd as he thought about how Scarlett and Nicole had different last names and Nicole wasn't a vampire. He was sure that Nicole wasn't a half vampire either. He was curious about Scarlett but it was better to get to know her slowly, there was no rush.
