Flashback
"He turned you into a vampire?"
Riordan asked after a moment.
Scarlett nodded, "Yes, it was him. He wanted to save me. I was at the brink of death so he couldn't just use his blood to heal me, actually I had already died due to the blood loss but he bit me and turned me into a vampire right at the moment I died, which brought me back to life and turned me into a vampire. After all saving me was a must for him, because I was not just a mere human to him, I was his mate."
Riordan's eyes flew open as his mouth hung wide.
"Your mate?!" he exclaimed and for the second time tonight he felt his heart break. 'She already has a mate.' The glimmer of his eyes dissipated as he looked at Scarlett with.
"But I escaped him, because i hate him from the very bones of mine. He turned me into a monster." Scarlett's eyes were as cold as ice as the smile of her lips froze at the thought of being turned, silver eyes glowed in the dark with hatred."
End of flashback
"So is it him? Vincent Von Stein? The soon to be Vampire King? Your mate? Vincent Von Stein is the one who turned you into a vampire?" Riordan asked anxiously.
Scarlett looked away at the distance,
"Yes, it's him. Vincent Von Stein, the soon to be Vampire King is my mate. He turned me into a vampire."
Riordan stared at her unbelievably. Riordan knew that Scarlett's mate would've been someone special after he saw the strength she has when she saved him that night. The aura she emitted was so powerful that even a well experienced vampire would not dare to mess with her. Riordan had always thought who might be her mate after he saw how powerful she was, now that he knew it's the soon to be Vampire King who turned her into a vampire, he was feeling like he is destined to lose. He was filled with mixed feelings and complications.
"He is my destruction." Scarlett looked at the lavender garden ahead when a shadow caught her eyes, she blinked and focused at the direction when her eyes flashed silver, Riordan followed her gaze but couldn't figure what caught Scarlett's attention.
"Is something wrong?"
Scarlett shooks her head, "No."
Riordan sighs as Scarlett looks up at him.
"So are you going to deny him?" Riordan asks as his eyes sparks with hope.
"Deny him?" Scarlett looks at Riordan puzzled.
"Reject the mate bond?"
"I can do that?" Scarlett asks in surprise.
"Ofcourse, you can, Every creature can either accept or reject the mate bond. But...." Riordan looks away from Scarlett as Scarlett asks, "But?"
"It has it's own consequences." Riordan wanted her to know everything after all she has a right to know since she is now already a vampire.
"What consequences?"
Riordan sighed, "He didn't even tell you about any of this. He sure is cunning."
Scarlett was puzzled, it was true that Vincent didn't talk much about the mate bond, he only told Scarlett that she was his mate, his soulmate, his destined one, his better half, a person he couldn't live without. Although Scarlett was touched at the moment in rush of her emotions but she couldn't accept the fact that she was no longer human.
"Tell me about it. I wanna know everything about this mate bond and every other stuff that I should know about." Scarlett said with an underlying meaning which Riordan understood.
"I'll tell you about it later. I know you have something to ask me. I'm ready to explain. Ask away." Riordan smiled at Scarlett as Scarlett remembered the actual reason they came out to talk about.
"Yeah, last time were you about to tell me about your identity?"
Riordan looked Scarlett in the eye, his eyes held sincerity and warmth.
"Yes, when I heard you know Artemia and Athanasius, I was going to tell you about myself because no matter what, I want to be sincere with you bur I couldn't tell you on time."
"So you are the Crown prince Riordan La Croix?"
Riordan nodded,
"Yes. Everyone around me treats me as a royal, I was sick of it. When we first met you actually fought with me over a packet of instant noodles. I was happy that you treated me as a normal person." Riordan's smile grew wider as he talked about the moment they first met while his emerald green eyes sparkled in the dim lights.
"I liked the way you were with me. It made me feel normal. Since you were new here I was sure you didn't knew what the crown prince looked like, so I introduced myself as Riordan De Luca, I took my mother's last name so you won't get intimidated by my real identity and treat me like others do. But soon when I got to know you, my mind changed about you. You are different from others, you are always honest, true to yourself and not to mention you are a vampire so I made up my mind to tell you about my real identity. I knew you would treat me normally even if you knew my real identity so I was planning to tell you at breakfast but Artemia interrupted then... that's why... I'm sorry, Scarlett." Riordan looked guilty as Scarlett's lips curved up in a gorgeous smile. Scarlett saw how sincere Riordan was, she saw the urgency and sincerity in his behavior this morning so she wasn't mad at him but instead felt warm.
"As long as you admit your wrongdoings and confess, I won't hold any grudges. You are forgiven."
Riordan's eyes went wide as he grinned at Scarlett like a fool.
"Really?"
Riordan thought Scarlett won't forgive him easily but she did, he felt relieved.
"Yes." Scarlett nodded as a deep melodic voice came from behind them.
"Are you guys done yet?"
