We all turned to find a blonde haired man standing behind us, a black ethereal beauty beside him.
“Draco.” Melanie squealed, in one quick stride she jumped onto the man and like he was expecting her to, he caught her mid way.
His arms wrapped around her. A goofy smile appearing open his face.
When Melanie was satisfied, her set her on her feet and next, she launched another hug on the lady beside him.
“Nymeria how are you?” Melanie said excitedly.
They all exchanged greetings while I just stood there gaping at the exceptionally looking couple.
It was very much obvious from where I stood. They were glued to her, his hand always reached back to hold her and from the aura emanating from them both I could already tell they held way too much power and status to be just normal wolves.
Definitely an Alpha and Luna.
I should shrink back from the shift in the air due to the power and strength they both exuded. I had no wolf, I shouldn't have the guts to stand beside them let alone stare this hard.
My body felt it but it felt like…. nothing.
Almost as if on cue. The Melanin beauty, Nymeria turned to me. Her eyes scanning me curiously, then she sniffed into the air.
She seemed a lot like Aria.
We continued to just stare. I didn't breathe until everyone else caught the exchange.
Her head c****d to the side. More curiosity shining within her eyes.
“You have no wolf.” She noted, like she was speaking to herself.
I finally broke out of my riverie, blinking repeatedly.
I took a step back, not knowing what to say and then Melanie chirped.
“She's Valeriana, my best friend.” The couples brows lifted in sync like a twin telepathic action, even I looked towards Melanie in surprise.
The gorgeous man sighed. “You have like 800 best friends Melanie.” He pointed and his mate chuckled.
“She's my special best friend.” Melanie declared even further. I was uncomfortable from the attention.
“Alpha Darco, Luna Nymeria.” Aria suddenly spoke, slightly bowing in greeting.
I breathed from the distraction.
The Alpha smirked at her, while his mate stepped forward, pulling Aria into a hug.
“I've missed you.” The Luna said softly.
“Likewise Luna.”
“Aria drop the formalities or else I'll have you hanged.” The Luna suddenly threatened, startling me.
She pulled back, her face morphing into annoyance.
Aria burst into a laugh like she was intentionally trying to annoy her. “I see you haven't changed one bit. Have you?” Aria said still laughing.
“It'll no longer be fun being sisters if I do.” The Luna said calmly.
My eyes widened. No wonder they did look alike.
“Where is he?” The Alpha suddenly asked.
And everyone looked around like they knew who he was speaking about.
“Probably brooding quietly somewhere like a loner.” Melanie said, her eyes still scanning the field.
Did she mean-?
I shifted on my feet tiredly. I wasn't feeling too strong to stand for this long.
All eyes turned to me and I almost regretted moving.
“Are you alright?” Aria asked me.
“Uhh, yes I'm fine.” Like she wasn't buying it, she spoke. Giving out orders like she was meant to be boss.
“She isn't feeling too well, let's go settle down.” She pulled me forward to her and her sister.
“Go find the King Draco. We'll all be heading straight to the festives.” Aria ordered.
The man in question didn't look like he liked this suggestion but they eyes of all three women stopped him from opposing.
“Fine. I'll just find him quickly then.” He grumbled.
I didn't like it either.
Before he left though. He placed his kissed to his mate's lips before walking away.
It was then I noticed it. Her rounded belly sticking out in front of her. It was half covered by the large coat she had on.
“I'm sixteen weeks gone.” I flinched back at being caught staring.
I chewed at my bottom lip. “Sorry.” I apologized stiffly.
I remember one time in my old pack. One of the expecting mothers caught me starring intently at her protruding belly and she accused me of trying to cast my curse upon her unborn child.
I just wanted to warn her that something was wrong with the child.
I could somehow tell.
The next week, she lost her child and almost lost her life and I was beaten half to death for placing a curse on her baby by staring.
I swallowed, chewing at my bottom lip.
“It's okay.” She said softly.
Aria gently held onto her arm leading her forward, her eyes glancing at me.
I felt bad for her. Since I arrived here, she's been living her life in worry for me.
Melanie linked her hand in mine, still in her ever happy mood. She wouldn't stop looking around the field.
My eyes carefully watched the Luna in front of me. I couldn't shake off what I just felt.
I couldn't put my finger on it but something felt off.
I was once a pack healer. I knew everything there was to know about it until the pack vehemently refused to let me touch any of their children, mate's or parent.
I had no wolf but I could strangely sense when something was wrong with a fetus.
We all sat down cross legged on a lush fur, spread upon the ground.
I found out, Alpha Draco was Melanie's and the King's cousin. His mate Nymeria was the first born of an Alpha and Aria was her younger sister and she carried the blood of an Alpha.
She came to the pack after she found her mate Gamma Rune. Alpha Draco also born of Alpha blood now have their both packs joined.
Their joint pack, the goldenstone pack was the most powerful after the Royal pack.
I unintentionally couldn't take my eyes off the Luna's belly.
“You want to touch her?” The Luna suddenly spoke, startling me.
My eyes snapped to her.
I didn't want to scare her away. “No, no, I was just-”
“Come on. You've been staring like you're seem a pregnant baby for the first time.” She said with a soft laugh.
She took my hand, as gently as her sister would.
I held my breathe, afraid that I could truly cast my curse upon her child and that something horrible could really happen.
I realized in this moment that I was most afraid of Aria and Melanie hating me. Those eyes filled with care and smiles turning to one of disgust.
I twisted my hand in her grip, fear gnawing at my insides as it neared her beautiful looking belly.
I snatched my hand from her grip. Shocking everyone seated around us.
“Nymeria.” We heard her mate call from behind us the second time tonight.
What caught my attention was the heavy heat directed right against my back. I stiffened for so many reasons.
