Chapter 1
Chaos and screaming with the smell of rogues, blood, and smoke was surrounding us as we were ushered to the pack house safe room. My name is Annabella Delroy daughter of the Cascade Falls packs delta-Cade Delroy and my mother Cassie. I was at school when the attack started and our teacher and a few pack warriors were trying to get us to safety through the fighting and smoke.
As we entered the safe room it was hard to stay calm as the thoughts of what was happening was running through our minds. Even Liam , the future Alpha and his sister Lisa looked scared as they ran inside. The elderly were still still coming in but the teacher was hurrying everyone along to get the door locked before we were discovered. Inside the room we could still hear the screaming and we all huddled together in the corner scared of what was happening around us. The Luna of our pack Luna Quinnlyn who was due to give birth to their third pup anyday now was also with us and doing her best to help calm everyone while worrying about her mate and brother who were protecting the pack and holding Lisa and Liam close to her sides.
Outside on pack lands the battle was fierce and Alpha Jacob, while battling several rogues, saw many pack members lying dead including his beta, who was his mates brother and his delta and their wives. Alpha Jacob tried not to think of the children who’s parent’s now lay dead as he continued to fight back to back with his head warrior Milo. As he sliced through the stomach of one of the rogues attacking him he realized his pack was slowly losing this war brought on by the rogue’s and he prayed that his Luna, the elderly,and children were all still safe and out of harm’s way.
Suddenly, when Alpha Jacob thought all was lost, he saw warriors running up from behind the rogue’s. He had no idea from what pack they came but was very grateful help had arrived and in turn gave what was left of his pack a fighting chance.
Alpha Jacob quickly killed the rogues he was fighting and started fighting his way towards the back where the new warriors were fighting when he stopped stunned when he saw one quickly change not into wolf form but Lycan form. Astonished he knew this was no ordinary pack-but the Royal pack army.
Lycan King Tanner, king of all wolves, quickly let his Lycan Theo take over when he saw the destruction the rogues had brought to the Cascade Falls Pack. He’d been watching these rogues for sometime now and they had attacked a few other packs but not too this degree. His royal guard also quickly turned to finish off this pack of rogues with the order from the King to save two in order to interrogate them and find out who the leader was and what their plans were.
