Chapter 9

Alpha Jaxon's POV

It had been several days since I had any new intel on Maddison. I found out her last name is White. Oddly mine is Black. The moon goddess working her magic again as usual. Even her name did things to me. A full grown Alpha wolf and I am a jibbering mess whenever I think of my girl. My wolf yipped at me...sorry, our girl. Our mystery girl who we knew merely nothing about  invaded my thoughts constantly night and day since we found her. A knock at my door pulled me from my Maddison induced daze. It was my mother. I had stupidly told her and father about finding my mate and now they are on my case to mark and mate her. I say they, but I mean mother, she is very persistent and also eager to be a grandmother. I am an only child so there hasn't been a baby in the family for over twenty years.

" Hello mum, what can I do for you ?"

" Jaxon, really? cut the formalities, I am your mother not just a pack member come to ask for help" 

Oh goddess, here we go again.

" Sorry mum, I am just swamped with work and the pack stuff too"

" And that's why you need to go get your girl and make her Luna of the pack she can help you here, the pack will be more balanced Jaxon"

" I am on it mother, you think I don't want her with me, my wolf is driving me crazy whining incessantly"

" And what about you darling, are you pining for her too?"

I looked up at her from my desk, she didn't look impressed with me. I guess I should be glad that they had accepted the fact she was human. Some packs will reject their fated mates if they do not have a wolf.

" Of course I want her too, but I want to do it properly and not so she feels forced or scared to be here with us ".

She rolled her eyes dramatically at me and mumbled something about my mate being a gift from the moon herself and that she is built for the task as she stropped out of my office.

No more than 2 minutes had passed when there was another knock. My patience had worn thin and I yelled out to whom ever was behind the door " What now?!!!".

Eric poked his head around the door with a big grin on his face. He always looked like he was up to something. The girls in the pack and out of actually loved his cheeky ways, they find him endearing. Endearing my ass. 

" Just bringing you your appointments big guy, you know for the interviews for the secretary position in the city office" he quipped.

" Thanks, but what's with the big smug look on your face ?"

" Check the interview list"

" Eric I don't have the time or patience for your bullshit right now" I said running a hand through my hair.

" She's on it, Maddison is on list "

" Shut the front door! How the..what the...shit, s**t, s**t" and I flicked through the appointments in disbelief until I saw her name.

There it was in black and white. Maddison White. She was actually going to be in my building, in my office. This was definitely fate working her magic, bringing us closer together. Hopefully, it will give me better ground to work on with her rather than the club. This is my way in, finally. I could feel my wolf excited in my mind, begging me not to f**k it up or else. 

Eric left and closed the door behind him, the whole time he was laughing like an i***t, leaving me alone wondering how to tackle this interview. She definitely had the job, I needed her close and out of that club full of perverts with wandering hands. There was literally no point in any of the other interviewees going out of their way so I mind linked Eric.

Eric, cancel the other interviews its a waste of everyone's time.

I closed the link. Now all I had to do was wait.
