Chapter 11

Alpha Jaxon's POV

There she was, my girl, phone in one hand and coffee in her other. She looked stunning even from this distance as she made her way down the street and towards my building. My wolf was letting out a prideful bark in my head. I wish he would shut up and let me deal with this, he has never been this vocal and got on my nerves as much in my life. My heart swelled and my stomach turned to a bundle of knots. Only my Maddison could make me feel this way. I have been with other women, which I now regret, especially the last girl Dominique. She was a pack member, greedy for power. She would pester me and say she felt a bond between us but for me it was nothing more than a bit of fun and when I told her that I wasn't interested in anything more she turned bitter and nasty, more than ever. I hoped that it wouldn't cause issues with Maddison, Dominique could be pretty vocal and bitchy. I will banish her and make her rogue if she dares hurt our Luna. I watched Maddison walk up the steps and then she was gone from my view. A few minutes later my phone rang and it was Hannah from main reception calling up to let me know that Miss White had arrived. Just hearing her name made my heart beat faster, I needed to gain control of myself. 

A moment later two soft knocks sounded from my doors. 

" Enter"

I kept my back to her whilst sat in my chair facing out onto the city. My wolf was now howling, we could scent her and my goddess she was divine. This was definitely going to be harder than I had originally anticipated. Her heels clicked on the floor as she neared my desk. 

" Take a seat please Maddison " It probably sounded a little smug but that was my wolf pushing forward as though he had caught his prey and was proud of himself.

I sensed her nerves, her pulse quickened. She had recognised our voice. I turned my chair so I was now facing her and her face flushed, we affected our mate which tempted me to jump over the desk and claim her but humans were very different and she would probably get me arrested for assault.

" We need to talk Maddison" 

She sat down in the seat as though she had accepted her fate for a moment. The rush of emotions coming from her were all over the place, she was aroused yet mad as hell at me and not to mention scared. Our mate was scared and that hurt. We wanted to protect our mate and make her feel loved and wanted. We needed to fix this and show her we were not going to harm her. 

" Just who the hell do you think you are ?! I've been scared for my own life for days thinking you guys were into some sick s**t bribing me with cash and then getting your hot dogsbody to follow me around like a lost puppy...Well? I am waiting Mr Black" her knuckles were white from gripping the arms of the chair so tight, her nose did this cute little twitchy thing when she was angry. If anyone else spoke to me this way my wolf would have ripped them in half for disrespecting us but he sat in the back of my mind like a scorned child whining. As for me, I had no idea what to say to her, I hadn't expected to be told off.

" I am sorry that I scared you, that wasn't my intention at all. The night we met you blew me away Maddison and, well, you are all I have been able to think about. I had Eric follow you to get some information about you, I was intrigued that's all. Please forgive me ?"

She sat there looking perplexed for a moment and then she giggled. Her laugh was sensational, everything about this woman was perfect. 

" You liked me and wanted to know more about me? you do know how to just talk to a woman Mr Black?"

" Jaxon, call me Jax or Jaxon"

" Whatever Jaxon, you can't go round frightening women, next time just ask her what you want to know "

"  Hopefully there won't be a next time Maddison"

" Is there even a job here going or was that another ploy?"

" The job is yours Maddison if you will accept it, I want you to have it, can we just start over and pretend none of my weird stalky stuff happened?"

" I'll think about it" and with that she got up and walked out leaving my wolf and I shocked.
