Ryder's POV:
There is one thing that I like and hate at the same time. I like playing with Lily, but the thought of being with her is terrifying me. I mean she doesn't look that bad, but she is way too antisocial. Moreover, every time when I try to talk with her, she runs away or tells me things that are not very nice. The other girls would kill to have me, but she doesn't. Maybe that is better. There is something wrong with this girl. Which normal person doesn't have friends? Even one.
Now I am in school with my friends. We are having lunch. I looked up and saw Lily sitting alone as always. This girl needs friends, but I won't be one of them. No, thank you. I got up and sat at her table. She was about to leave, but I stopped her.
- You don't have to leave every time when you see me. I won't do anything to you.
- Maybe, but I don't want to talk with you.
- Why? You are probably the only girl on who I haven't tried.
- That's why and because I don't think that you are able to make one normal conversation without being the bad version of yourself.
- What version? This is who I am.
- Now you see what I mean. I have to go.
- Wait! Is there something that I can do, to make you talk with me?
- Maybe if you stop trying on every girl and listen more to what people are telling you, I will do it. However, it's only maybe.
With that, she left. I swear this girl is like mission impossible. No matter what I do, she'll always criticize me. Am I that bad? No, this can't be true. Otherwise, why all these girls will like me. I got up and walked to my table. The boys looked at me with smirks, but they quickly fade when they saw my face.
- So... it didn't end well, right? - Mason said
- Nope. She didn't even want to talk with me.
- This means that you won't try on her. I get it. - Alex said
- How I am supposed to when she doesn't even let me say one hi? Anyways, she is not that important. I have many and better-looking girls going after me.
- That's true too, but somehow I believe that you still will going to try. Correct me if I am wrong. - Mason said
- I don't know. It's better if I don't think about her.
After lunch, we went for our last couple of classes. Later the boys and I will go out. Who knows, maybe we can go to a party. My parents are going out tonight so the new babysitter will come home. I still haven't met her. I hope that she is pretty and my age. As much as probably would like it, I prefer to try on girls who are around my age. Maybe only one-two years difference.
I walked home to get changed and I saw my parents.
- Aren't you supposed to be at work?
- And since when do you care what we do? - my mom asked
- I don't. I'm just surprised to see you at home so early.
- You know that we have to go out tonight. It's a business dinner and we have to get ready.
- So, it won't be only me then.
- Yes. The babysitter will come to watch Lea and Mia.
- Since she has nothing else to do.
- I asked her and she said that she's free.
- Whatever. I don't care.
I walked into my room and took a shower. I changed my clothes and went out to meet the boys. When I arrived, they were already waiting for me.
- Where are we going? Any ideas? - Alex asked
- I thought that we are going to a party? - Mason said
- It's only 4 pm. There are no parties that early. I happily would make one at home, but the house is not empty.
- Why? You said that your parents will go out. - Alex said
- Yes, but my sisters will be there. Moreover, the new babysitter.
- Did you meet her already? - Mason asked
- No, not yet. Maybe someday I will do it.
- Then I have an idea how we can spend the night. - Alex said
- What do you have in mind? It better be good.
- Well since there will be a babysitter at your house, we can play with her. One prank won't cause any harm, right?
- I don't know what you mean, but I like your idea.
- Wait a minute. What if she is an old woman? I don't think that she'll like it. - Mason said
- I didn't think of that. Let's hope that she isn't. What prank we should do?
- I don't know. Something that won't hurt her, but will be funny at the same time.
We walked and talked about this for probably an hour. Later we went to one diner for drinks. This time no alcohol. I'll leave this for a party. When we go to one, of course. Mom sends me a message when they left home, which means that we can bring our plan into action.
The boys and I walked home. It was empty like no one is there. All of us went into the living room to watch a movie. We still don't know what the prank will be so for now we gave up. Maybe I'll leave her to rest since it'll be her first time seeing me.
- Man, is there anybody here? It looks so empty. - Mason asked
- I have no idea. She has to be here. I am going to the kitchen. Does any of you want anything?
- No, we are good. - Alex said
When I walked into the kitchen, I froze in place. She lifted her head and I could tell that she felt the same.
- What are you doing here? - both of us said in sync
- You go. - she said
- No, no. Ladies are first.
- And since when you are a gentleman?
- Since I saw the devil in my house.
- Hold on! Are miss and mister Collins your parents?
- Yes, they are. Now tell me what are you doing here. No, hell no. Tell me that you are not... this can't be true. You are the new babysitter, right?
- Surprise. - she said awkwardly
- How did my mom let you here?
- Well I talked with her and she liked me. That's it.
- I can't believe it. I thought that I'll have a good day, but no.
- For what are you complaining? You are the one who is always trying on me. I don't even talk with you. Look, I'll make you a deal from which I think that both of us will be contented.
- And what is it? I am listening to you.
- Just we won't talk to each other while I am here. It's easy. The question is can you do it.
- It doesn't sound that bad. I'll think about it.
Lily was about to say something when Lea appeared behind her with her mouth covered in chocolate ice cream. To be honest I am very happy to see it.
- Lea, what have you done? I told you to eat the ice cream in your bowl with a spoon.
- I did it, but it ended. I wanted more, so I buried my face in the box and ate some.
- Now, you have to clean it. Babysitter. - I laughed
- I better clean her than you. If you know what I mean.
- Man, what took you... Lily? What are you doing here? - Alex asked
- Cleaning Lea's face. Let's go to wash this ice cream. This is the last time when I'll leave you alone with a box of ice cream.
- I'm sorry.
- It's ok.
Lily left to clean Lea's face. How did my mom let the devil in my house? Ok, Lily is not that bad, but just not what I have imagined. I mean I never thought that she could be a babysitter. That will be interesting. Maybe I should stay more at home. Since she doesn't want to talk with me in school, she has to do it here. It will be very funny. At least for me.
- Is Lily the new babysitter? - Mason asked me
- That's what it looks like. I'm not going to lie that this will be fun.
- Lea! You will see the little girl. No one plays with me. - I heard Lily saying
We looked at her and her whole face was covered in chocolate. I couldn't resist and started laughing. The boys as well.
- Very funny. Now the whole school will know about this, right?
- I never said that I'll tell someone.
- But you didn't say that you won't do it as well.
- You won't catch me. I am faster. - Lea said and started running
- Don't be so sure.
Soon enough Lily caught her, put her on the couch in the living room, and started tickling her. Lea couldn't stop laughing. I saw tears in her eyes. That's a lot of tickling.
- Please stop. I won't do it again.
- You said that the last time. I don't believe you.
- Please. Go tickle my brother.
- Don't you dare or I'll kill you. - I said
- Like, I would do it with you. I prefer people who don't smell like alcohol.
- Hey, my breath is clean.
- Yeah, for now. Who knows until the morning what it'll be.
- Please Lily. I will be a good girl.
- Do you promise?
- I do, just stop.
- Ok, fine, but if you do this again, the next time I won't stop.
- I won't do it. Can we play now?
- Sure. What do you want to play?
- Whatever it is, I want you out of here. I need the couch to watch a movie with the boys.
- Go find another place. Lily and I will stay here. - Lea said
- It's ok. This couch is way too boring for one princess. We can make a better one.
- Really? Can we make one?
- We can make what we want. Let's leave the boys to watch their boring movie.
- I never said that... - but she already left
I don't know how I am going to deal with her. The boys and I decided to scare her. This girl needs to know that this is my house and whatever I say, that's what she'll do. We were about to go to Mia and Lea's room when I saw them in the backyard watching something on the swing. They have decorated it with Christmas lights and have put a blanket on top. It looks like a shelter.
- What they have done with the swing? - Mason asked
- I don't know. No, let's go to them. Be quiet.
We went right behind them. The boys and I were about to scare them when Lily said something.
- Do it and I will break you. If you wake them up, you will put them in bed.
I look at them and saw that Mia and Lea were sleeping. Damn it! How did she know that we were here? Does she have supervision or what? Maybe she is a witch.
- Are you a witch?
- Yes, I am. And will make a spell to make you shut up.
I looked at her and heard that Lily is laughing. How can I be so stupid? The one who should be laughing was supposed to be me, but I guess that this won't be tonight.
- Will you make me a favor? I want you to watch Mia while I put Lea in bed. Then I'll come and take her.
- And why should I do that?
- Because at least for once you can be responsible. Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot that you don't know what this word means. Anyways I am leaving her to you.
With that Lily took Lea and walked inside. There is no way that I'll be a babysitter. I looked at Mia, who was sleeping so peacefully. Damn it! I can't leave her.
- I think that it's time for us to go. We'll leave you to talk with the babysitter. - Alex chuckled
- Very funny. I hope that my parents will come back soon so she can leave.
- No matter do you like me or not, your mom chose me so you have to deal with it. - Lily said and took Mia
The boys left. Now it's only me and Lily. Maybe I'll accept her deal. If we don't talk will be better. I walked inside and saw her in the kitchen. I was about to walk to her, but I gave up.
- I don't bite. You don't have to hide from me.
- I thought that you don't want to talk with me.
- Yes, because you can't do a normal conversation.
- Why are you so sure?
- Because I see it. If you could do it, I wouldn't be always mad at you.
- Isn't there at least one thing that you like in me?
- I'll be honest and tell you the truth. I believe that somewhere deep inside of you there is a good guy, but for some reason, the bad one doesn't let him go out.
I didn't expect her to say that. Even after all that I did to her, which to be honest was almost nothing, because she never let me, she still believes that I am a good guy.
- So you don't think that I am that bad?
- I do, but not completely. Anyways go where you have to go. You don't have to stay here with me.
Now I feel bad for her. She is alone all day. Moreover, Lily is staying at home as well. I haven't seen her going out.
- No, I want to stay here if you don't mind.
- And what is your game this time?
- There is no game. I know that you are alone all the time and I decide to make you some company. Since you believe that I am a good guy, we can see if it's true.
- If you say so. But to make it clear. That doesn't mean that I'll share my personal life with you.
- I didn't say that you have to.
- Ok, good.
It turned out that Lily is not that bad. Maybe she just needs friends or people with who she can go out. I won't lie that she is a little bit private, but that's ok. I don't need to know everything about her. Moreover, probably this will be the first and last time when I'll talk with her like that. One night I can pretend to be the good guy, but this won't be forever.
