Laurent Stephanie was a woman whose late father was secretly killed by his second wife, Juliet, to steal his wealth. Juliet and her children hated Stephanie so much because Stephanie's father loved Stephanie the most because she was more intelligent, hardworking, and kind to her father. Stephanie's father was willing to will her almost all his inheritance because of her behavior. This made Juliet and her children hate Stephanie. They jealoused Stephanie's progress, and they stole Stephanie's husband from her.

Stephanie was betrayed by James Hale. Stephanie's evil stepsister, Melinda, was having an affair with Stephanie's husband, James. Before Stephanie would realize the truth, Melinda was already pregnant for James. Both James and Melinda planned to steal everything that Stephanie had, including her house and her company.

Until Stephanie met a billionaire named Alexander Brendan, who was a friend to James.

Will Stephanie fight back? Will James and Melinda lose everything they stole? Will Stephanie rise to become stronger? Will she discover the truth about the death of her father and how her father's properties were stolen?

The betrayal
At the house, James was with Melinda as she rubbed her hand on her stomach. "Darling, I am happy we are together," she said with a smile. As she wrapped her arms around him, James smiled faintly. "Ever since I saw you, I have always loved you," Melinda said, looking into his eyes. "Then why did you marry Stephanie?" James lowered his head and sighed. "My father was dying in the hospital, and the bills kept increasing. My family had nothing left, so she said there was only one way out." "What way?" Melinda asked. "She wanted me to date and marry Stephanie because of her money. She believed Stephanie could rescue my father and make the family rich." Melinda stared at him. "So you never loved Stephanie?" He slowly shook his head. "No. I only married her because I was desperate." "And after your father got better?" Melinda asked. "My father actually did not get better; his disease is incurable. I planned to leave Stephanie when I make my own money and start a new life." "And then I came back into your life." "Yes," James replied immediately. "The feelings I had for you did not disappear. I tried to bury them, but I couldn't." Melinda moved closer to him. "You know, I never believed we could end up like this." "You avoided me in the past because you were in a relationship," James replied with a bitter smile. Melinda laughed softly. "I was in love with a billionaire at that time. I knew him first before you." "And now?" he asked. "Now I found true love." She gently touched his cheek with her fingertips. "I am happy because you are now successful." James wrapped his arms around her waist. "Everything I did was to have a better life." Melinda became serious. "A better life is what I want too." "What do you mean?" James asked. "In the past, Stephanie has always had everything given to her while my mother suffered. My late father gave her almost all his properties, including our own." "That's wickedness. Why will she get everything from your father?" "It is because he feels she is better than us in everything. Because of Stephanie, my father beat up my own mother till she almost died." The truth was that Melinda's mom tried to kill Stephanie so that her husband would give his inheritance to Melinda and her sisters, but her late father found out and decided to beat her up. "Sorry for what happened in your family." "I want to take back every inheritance that originally belongs to me and make her pay for the agony we went through in childhood." James looked at her carefully. "Alright, we will achieve it." His heart gradually hardened under Melinda's influence. "I will not allow anything to hurt you. I will make you happy by making sure Stephanie pays back what she did to you." They both stared at each other. Their plans were made and ready for execution. "Stephanie will go back to her struggling mother because she does not belong here." As they were speaking, Stephanie had already entered the house unnoticed. She had heard most of their discussion, and her world began to spin. She quietly opened the door. What she suspected was actually true. "So it is true that you are dating my stepsister?" she asked, struggling to find her voice. "Stephanie, you need to leave this house now. I will help you get an apartment somewhere," James said, pointing toward the door. Stephanie's shock quickly turned into anger. "You dare ask me to leave my own house I built? I can't believe I'm hearing this from the man I loved." She moved closer to James, forcing him to step back. "Stephanie, I... lost the feelings I had for you," James replied. "I took care of you and your parents, and this is what I get?" Stephanie asked. "I know. I tried my best to make it work, but it didn't. You deserve someone who truly loves you," James said. James knew he never loved her, but he was trying to speak kindly. "You liar! But you told me that you loved me before," Stephanie replied. "I don't love you anymore, Steph." James struggled to gather his composure. "From the day I married you, I suspected you were only after my money from your actions. But I was so deeply in love with you, and I couldn't turn back." "N-no, I did not marry you for money," James replied. Guilt was visible in his eyes. "You are leaving my house today!" Stephanie shouted. "This house now belongs to me and James," Melinda replied as she stepped forward and wrapped her hands around James' arm. "Stephanie, y..you..you need to leave this house now. I will help you get an apartment somewhere," he stammered. "Leave this house," Melinda said, pointing toward the door. Stephanie could not believe her ears. "What is happening? You both should leave my house now!" she demanded. "Look, Steph, if you don't leave, I will be forced to call security to take you out," James said. "James, what is all this madness? Leave my house and stop saying nonsense." "Stephanie, the ownership documents have been transferred, and they were signed a week ago. Please leave," James said. She realized that something must have gone wrong. Stephanie immediately thought of her lawyer. She wanted him to bring the original documents of the house. She put her hand into her pocket and brought out her phone. She dialed Robinson's number, but it was not going through. She decided to call him later. As Stephanie was shouting, a voice suddenly came from behind; something was about to explode.
