The message entered James' phone with a notification sound, and it said, "Don't ever talk to me or message me again." James felt a blow in his heart when he read the message. He wished he could rewind the clock. That night was a night of regret for him. The next day, at Brenden's company, Stephanie was on a white corporate shirt and a black skirt. The staff were already at work. The machines were operated by professionals, and drinks were arranged in a specific pattern. Suddenly, the entrance door opened. A familiar figure walked into the company. Something was about to explode, and the atmosphere was almost at the blink of explosion. Sharon entered the company with Melinda. Sharon was holding Benjamin in the hand as she was entering the company. Immediately Brendan saw Sharon, he got angry. "What are you doing here with this child?" his eyebrow furrowed in anger. Sharon's cheek widened in an evil smile. "I am here to let the world know that I had a child for you." "That child does not belong to me. Get out of this place," Brendan replied. As they were talking, Melinda looked at Stephanie with a disdainful look mixed with fear and respect that she could not hide. She knew that Stephanie was intelligent, and she was now dating Brendan, the billionaire. "You can't run away from your past, darling. You know how sweet I used to be to you." Sharon's eyes became darkened and charming. "I now have someone who is better than you," Brendan smiled at her. "Oh, you mean this? She can't even stand my beauty." Sharon spoke as she looked at Stephanie from hair to toe. "Shut your mouth. You are so beautiful, but you could not keep him." Stephanie's eyes widened in great anger. "How dare you challenge me? I will make sure I do a DNA test for my child, and Brendan will be mine," Sharon replied as she slowly stepped forward. Immediately, Stephanie's heart tore apart. Her hands began to tremble greatly as she saw the confidence on Sharon's face when she was talking of doing a DNA test. She thought that Sharon was right. Tears welled in her eyes. Her face changed. Brendan looked at her and noticed the hurt she was going through. "Darling, it's a lie. Sharon has no child for me. She is lying." Brendan turned to Stephanie as he held her hands. Stephanie stepped back. "I think I will have to take my leave for now," Stephanie spoke. "Why are you listening to what Sharon is saying?" Brendan spoke. "Because I don't know if Sharon is saying the truth," Stephanie spoke as she rubbed her hair in confusion. As Stephanie was about to leave the company, Melinda and Sharon looked at each other and smiled. Melinda still has her secret intentions of taking brendan back to her Life. She only faked her smile. "Sharon is lying. If she was saying the truth, then we will do a DNA test. I am sure the baby is not mine," Brendan spoke as there was sincerity in his eyes. His sincere face made Stephanie's heart soften. Stephanie looked at Sharon and Melinda. Stephanie searched for lack of confidence and guilt, but she found some traces on Sharon's face because she knew she was lying. She was not sure if Sharon was lying. But Melinda was confident because she thought Sharon was saying the truth. Brendan looked at both Melinda and Sharon and said, "Both of you should leave this company before I call the security men to throw you out." Sharon forced an evil laugh and said, "You will come back to your senses when we do the DNA test." They both left the company. At Stephanie's apartment, she was lying down. Memories of betrayal sank into her mind. She remembered how James betrayed her and how something similar happened at the office. "I love Brendan. I think what happened was a lie," she tried to believe in Brendan. Her phone rang. When she checked who was calling, she noticed it was Sharon. She ignored the call because she never wanted to believe that Brendan had a child with Sharon. Next, a message appeared on her phone. Her heart beat heavily as she was about to check the message. She thought it was still Sharon, but the message came from Brendan. "I love you, and I will do the DNA test to prove I am not the father of Sharon's child," Brenden spoke. Brenden's words softened her heart. Her confidence grew inside her again. She texted back, "Let's do the DNA test." Her eyes narrowed in determination. That evening, when Melinda and Sharon got home, Melinda first spoke to their mom with confidence. "Mom, we are gradually destroying the relationship between Stephanie and Brendan." Melinda's cheek widened. "That's fantastic. How did Stephanie react when you told her the truth about Sharon's son?" Juliet looked at Melinda as her eyebrow furrowed in curiosity. "Mom, you need to see how Stephanie was crying like a child." Melinda's cheek widened as she burst into laughter. "That's what she deserves. Very soon, everything she thinks she has will be gone," Juliet replied. "Let me inform Brendan that the DNA test will be scheduled next week Monday," Sharon spoke. "Yeah, that's very important," Melinda answered. Sharon sent a text to Brendan that minute. The next day, at Brendan's house in the afternoon, he was at home preparing to meet his parents, who were returning from France. Stephanie also came to his house so that Brendan could introduce her to his parents. Stephanie had already helped Brendan put the house in order by cleaning, sweeping, and arranging things. Suddenly, the doorbell made a sound to signal that someone was outside. Brendan quickly ran towards the door to open it. As he opened the door, his mom, Alexander Seraphina, with her wrinkled face, walked in with her luggage, while her husband, Alexander Vasquez, followed her at the back. The next people that followed were his two sisters, Annabel and Rita. "Good afternoon, Mom and Dad. I have missed you," Brendan greeted. "Good afternoon, my son. How are you, and how is your company?" his mom, Seraphina, spoke. "Everything is fine, Mom," Brenden replied. "Who do we have here?" his dad asked Brendan with his thick voice. Brenden forced a smile as he was nervous about how his parents would respond if he told them about Stephanie. "It's my girlfriend, Stephanie," Brendan spoke. "What?... Your girlfriend?" Seraphina replied as her eyebrow furrowed. "Y-yes, Mom, the woman I want to marry," Brendan spoke as he stammered. "Is this not Stephanie, the woman who was born out of wedlock?" Seraphina spoke to Brendan. There was great tension as Stephanie began to boil in great anger.
