Dangerous Game

Unknown Year     "Garrett why must this structure be the furthest away from civilization? Labor is too much to transport here so why must we go even further?"     I glared at the werewolf, "I've explained this many times, my patience with you runs thin. My witch has foretold of this land eventually becoming a country. Until that time we will be isolated so no supernatural has a chance of escape.'     I looked over the land and then down at the parchment in my hands. This portion of my plan was going to take the longest. Importing any labor will still take weeks even with having witches at my disposal, unfortunately,  but that gives me more time to perfect the buildings themselves and how to run them. I was lost in my thoughts when I smelled the witches getting closer.     "Rather time you showed yourself witch. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to have to hunt you.     "Watch your mouth vampire  you hired my power, meaning you are aware of how fast death can become you."     I felt anger rise within me. This witch  is openly mocking and threatening me. How dare she? She was small and weak, my senses alone were stronger than hers so how did she think her power could ever defeat, much less kill, me. I felt my eyes change color showing my anger was rising.     "You better watch your words. If you want to live past tonight you do well to remember that I hired you alive but I could return you dead. I am aware of your powers and I had every intent on hiring you for the second phase of my plan but I think that will no longer be necessary. Bring my labor through your portal then vanish."     I held my glare and saw her return her own, "I do not need your power nor money to survive, best do well to remember that. We are both aware no one can recreate my portals, if you want to keep my services I will do so only for a spot on your council."     I paused to think. This witch was bold in her demands but I did need to use her power. I did need a leader for the witch division in the council. This witch was after power and while I didn't like her I could respect her mission.     "I need a witch so I will keep you alive. I will put you in charge of the witch faction but you will also serve to begin the second phase of this plan when it is ready."     She smirked, "It has been a pleasure to do business with you."     Within a blink she was gone and a portal was in her place transporting the first part of the labor I needed to begin this project. These buildings will be the first step and I will perfect this plan.
