I rolled out of bed groaning as my alarm blared in my ear. I quickly shut the screeching noise up as I went to shower. I know classes started in the evenings, so why did it feel so damn early? I felt like I had to wake up at four in the morning just to spend the day in boring lecture halls. I had to admit, I was excited to start my potions class, mental magic class, and spells class again. I had so much fun in those classes and the magic I got to do was beyond exciting. I loved learning new ways to enhance my magic.
With those thoughts in mind I quickly showered, dressed and grabbed my bag. When I opened the door to rush down to breakfast, a odd squeal left my lips and my magic responded sending who ever it was that was waiting on me into the wall. The man grunted and groaned as he slowly stood to his feet. Embarrassment washed over me when I saw it was only Abe. In my defense he should not have been skulking outside my door like a creep. "I'm so sorry Abe." I said rushing up to him, trying to make sure i had not harmed him too badly.
Abe held his skeletal like hand up to me as he took a few breaths. "It's alright Anna, I should not have surprised you like I did. I came to inform you that Headmistress Charlotte would like to see you." I gaped at him. "Now?" I questioned. "I haven't even had breakfast yet." His pink eyes shone with amusement as he smiled. "Don't worry Anna. Professor Samuel has been notified of your meeting and you will be able to go have your breakfast as soon as you leave the Headmistresses office."
I nodded in defeat as I followed sullenly after Abe. Why would Charlotte need to see me so damn early? Breakfast just began and classes just started back. Surely she could have called me into her office yesterday and saved all this drama.
I dropped myself heavily into the chair across from her and huffed my annoyance. Charlotte just smiled at me in amusement. "Some times I forget you are still a child." She mused. "Ya, a child right." I scoffed. "I am nineteen and need food." I grumbled. Charlotte chuckled lightly. "You will get your food soon enough. I asked you to come here because we have a guest coming today. He is royalty among the supernatural world. His name is prince Ashe. He is a very powerful fae that has decided he wanted to help support the Academy. This man as powerful as he is craves power, authority and total control. With your rebellious and dominant personality I ask that you do your best to steer clear of him. As a witch you will feel his power when he enters the Academy grounds, stay away from any where you feel his power."
Wait, huh? Why the hell would I want to meet a fae prince? "I assure you, I have no intention or need to meet any prince no matter what supernatural race he may be." I said with boredom. I mean, I am not power hungry, I do not wish to make a friend of a prince or have anything to do with royalty. They were more than likely stuck up snobs who have had everything they ever wanted or asked for handed to them on a silver platter, raised with a gold spoon in their mouth. And with him being power hungry, I am sure he is more than likely smug and just plain boring. Boring people were no fun. "I will stay away from him." I promised her. "Thank you dear. Now you may go and get your breakfast. Have a wonderful day."
I left her office cringing at her peppy and perky attitude. Ha! She probably wanted this prince for herself. Charlotte always struck me as a person who wanted to be on top, who loved control and power. Well she didn't have to worry about me getting in her way, I have no intention of seducing a prince. Hell, like every other supernatural he probably had a mate who was waiting for him back home. The thought however made me laugh as the image of Charlotte flirting and batting her eyelashes at the prince only to have him turn her away almost made me fall into hysterics.
"ANNA!" Elana's scream echoed in the halls. I smiled as Elana hurled herself into me hugging me. "I missed you." She cried. "Elana, we were just on break." I chuckled. "It's not like I was gone for good." Elana just burrowed her face into my neck and sighed. "Elana, calm down." I cooed. "What is wrong with you?" She pulled away from me and looked at me with tear filled eyes. Something was wrong. "I heard something happened at your families estate. I was so worried something happened to you." I laughed. "Oh, something did happen. I tortured a group of witches and warlocks. Somehow some of my families killers ended up at the party. Thankfully before I could go too far I was calmed down." Elana sighed with relief. "Good, I'm glad you're ok." She said.
"Can I go get food now?" I asked. Elana laughed "Come on, I'll go with you. Professor Samuel can wait on us both." I nodded and we made small talk as we walked to the cafeteria and ate our breakfast. Coffee was a must this morning since I was feeling more drained than usual. I knew something was off, my energy was not as strong and I felt like I had stayed up all night. But something nagging in the back of my mind told me there was a reason, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Charlotte was right, the second Ashe stepped onto Academy grounds I felt his power. It filled the entire campus like a thick blanket. The power was so intense it was suffocating. Apparently no one else could feel it, at least not as strongly as I could. They milled and shuffled around the campus as if it was any other day and not like a massively powerful being was among them.
By the time lunch came around my very being was vibrating with the energy the Prince was letting off. His energy filled me, making me feel stronger, and more alert than I have ever been. It was like my energy was reacting to his somehow. "Anna. What's wrong with you?" Alex asked. I looked over to him, his gasp told me what I already knew, my silver eyes were glowing, letting off a soft light as if the moon had been placed in my skull.
"NO! NO! You can't go in there." I heard the shouts just as the door slammed open. My head snapped to the door and my jaw dropped. A man as pale as the moon stood rigid, scanning the room with his diamond like blue eyes. His long silver hair had fallen out of place and had strands ha fallen into his beautiful face. When his eyes landed on me he stood up straight. I knew right away what was happening and my mind was not accepting it. "No, no, no, no ,no. not again." I whispered hysterically. I jumped from my seat quickly opening a portal beside me. With one last look back, I saw the mans eyes widened and started running towards me.
I leapt into the portal and closed it as quickly as I could. In my room I could feel the walls rattle and shake with his roar. What the hell was that? No, I don't believe it, it can't be possible. I shook my head, no. No way was this possible. I kept repeating this over and over as I paced my large room. But deep down I knew the truth. Ashe was the piece I felt was missing, he was my mate.
