After all the pain and trauma Ashe's body had been through it didn't take long before he fell unconscious once again. I didn't freak out quite as much this time since I knew he was going to be ok, but even with that knowledge it didn't stop me from snapping at anyone who got near him that I didn't think should be. I only allowed my other mates to carry him to his new king quarters, only allowed Flora to show us there. and threatened everyone who was there that should what happened get out before Ashe was ready there dire consequences.
I spent the next few days by Ashe's side while he recovered. He never woke after that first time, I assume because his body and mind needed time to rest. But once day five came and went with no response from him, my temper was becoming more and more volatile. Samuel and the others tried and it helped at first, but without Ashe, their attempts progressed on more to the irritating stage. I knew their attempts were coming from a good place and it wasn't their intention to annoy me, so I've done my best to just grind my teeth and keep quiet, but it was getting really hard.
"Queen." a soft voice trilled in my ear. The sudden voice startled me, causing me to jump, throwing my seat to floor in my haste. "Apologies queen." the fairy said backing away quickly. I sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of my nose. "It's alright. Is anything wrong?" I asked, struggling to keep my voice even. "We can help." She said simply. Help? help with what? "With?" I questioned a little more sternly than I intended. "With out king, we can wake him."
Her words sent such joy shooting through me I didn't know how to contain it. "Really?" I asked rushing up to the tiny creature. She quickly shot backwards as if I was going to attack her instantly stopping me in my tracks. "I wasn't going to hurt you." I told her, feeling a mixture of hurt by her reaction and angry. What else have these tiny creatures been through to where they have to be so cautious? "We have been through much young queen." She said sadly. I furrowed my brows, did I say that out loud?
The tiny fairy laughed, I mean actually laughed. "No, you didn't. As queen all of the fairy will be able to read your thoughts. That way we will always know where you are, if you're in danger, or if you may need us. It's close to the mate bond you have, but we can't fee your emotions. Emotions can be cut off and blocked easily from each other, blocking ones mind from an entire kingdom is near impossible." She explained.
Great. "Well, can you help him? Please?" I asked trying to get the subject back to Ashe. "Of course." With some kind of high pitched call that made me cover my ears she called others into the room. They all surrounded Ashe, some even standing on him over various parts of his body. As their multicolored lights brightened, it drained into Ashe, lighting him up in an array of colors.
I watched in fascination as they fluttered around him in what seemed to be choreographed movements. Before long, their movements slowed before eventually stopping. They all backed away from him and surrounded me, making sure to leave a path between the two of us so I could get to him when he wakes.
