CHAPTER 4

"That's right. You're a smart kid and you have a strong memory." Robert stroked Kenzie's hair lovingly. "Does Kenzie want to be a doctor someday?" Robert's question was answered with a steady nod by the boy. The handsome doctor with a cold face smiled happily to see Kenzie's quick response. It was easier for Robert to win Kenzie's heart when he knew what the boy wanted. "Excellent answer. In a few days, I'll be picking you up so Kenzie can grow up to be a doctor." Robert could feel there was an angry glint from the corner of Rose's eye toward him. "Really? Kenzie could be a Doctor when grows up?" Kenzie's eyes sparkled with joy. That cheerful and innocent smile made Robert fall in love even more. Really his feelings can change quickly compared to when Robert had not received the DNA test results. "Of course!" Robert tried to lift Kenzie in his arms, but failed because Rose first quickly pushed the child away from him. "If Kenzie wants to be a doctor, Aunt Rose will save for your school." Rose looked at the five year old boy lovingly. "We shouldn't rely on or expect help from people we don't know, that's not good and it's not the attitude of a real man." added Rose. "Kenzie understands, doesn't, Honey." "Yes, Kenzie understands." Kenzie nodded her head obediently. "Smart kids." Rose hugged Kenzie, stroking the boy affectionately before giving it to her sister to take away. Ryan immediately carried Kenzie and led his father away from them. "Go. No one expects your presence." Rose's cold words made Robert smile sarcastically. "There will come a time when you will kneel at my feet and beg. I will be back again to take my son away." Robert's calm voice was threatening. "Never dream, it won't happen because Kenzie is now my son!" Rose's firm words made Robert smile mockingly. "Does that mean you're offering to be my wife?" "What a shameless, shameless man! I wonder how Ruby could be so stupid and give herself up for you, in fact you're just a lecherous man!" Rose couldn't hold back her emotions anymore. The woman didn't care anymore if anyone else heard the debate between her and this famous doctor. All he wanted was to forget all the resentment in his heart and swear. "Tskckck..." Robert chuckled at Rose's words blaming himself and glorifying Ruby, "You think your sister is the Holy Virgin Mary, an innocent woman?" A cynical laugh escaped Robert's mouth. "Yes! She is indeed a pure girl whom you have tarnished and you still insult her even now when she is gone." Rose made the sign of the cross praying for the peace of Ruby's soul. "If she's a pure girl, how come I got her so easily and there's no virgin blood in there anyway." Robert smiled with satisfaction when he saw Rose was surprised. The man then scraped the distance between them. He approached Rose, leaned his head closer to Rose's ear who was still shocked by what Robert had said. "However, I must admit that Ruby's body is very delicious." Robert's words brought Rose to her senses. The beautiful woman with Asian and Mexican blood raised her hand to slap Robert with all her might. He forgot the manners he learned when he behaved in front of many people. Robert's words were too sharp and too cruel. Rose doesn't accept anyone insulting Ruby, even though the man is her nephew's biological father. He looked at Robert with angry, hate-filled eyes. "Get out of my sight, right now!" Rose's voice was full of firmness. The dispute between Robert and Rose attracted the attention of many people to gossip. Everyone wondered what made Rose dare to slap an important person, a public figure. Conrad and Jasmine, who were conversing with Romeo, Ruby's father, also turned their heads towards them. Conrad immediately rushed over to them to mediate between the two people. "What happened, why are you so angry, Rose?" Conrad looked at Rose and Robert in turn. Rose's beautiful and gentle face now turned like a phoenix with fire radiating all over her body, while Robert was like a dragon arrogantly ready to devour a phoenix. The two smoldering flames flashed through their eyes. "Get him out of here, Conrad. A rotten man like him doesn't deserve to be in this place." Without turning her angry gaze to Robert, Rose turned to Conrad for help. "This land doesn't belong to you so I'm free to do and tread any area I like." Robert's sharp words made Rose's anger rise even more. "Never mind, Robert. Go, don't make a fuss here. At least respect those who are grieving." Conrad said slowly. "All right, Mr. Perfect. I'll be leaving before this woman throws up and soils my shoes." Robert smiled sarcastically as he rubbed his cheek which felt hot from Rose's slap. "Robert." Conrad looked at his brother-in-law to stop speaking cynically. "You're right. You don't have to go, dear Doctor. I'll go, because this place is more suitable for you." Rose didn't wait for Robert to attack her with his smug words and smugness again, for in that instant she stepped gracefully away from the man who snarled in annoyance. "We'll see, Rose!" Ting tong! "Welcome!" The sound of the bell signaling customers to come in, made Rose look up. The girl who had just recorded the results of today's sales, was stunned to see an unexpected figure suddenly standing in front of her. If only she had known it was the man who would appear, Rose would not have said hello and more importantly she would have closed the convenience store earlier. "What are you doing here?" Rose asked coldly. She closed the book containing the financial records and put them in a drawer. Rose glared at the man who came in wearing a black suit and hiding his famous handsome face behind a hat. "I want to see my son." The man turned his face to glare at Rose. "Your son? Heh! How do I know who your son is." Rose glared at the handsome man who was trying to hide his face behind a black hat.
