The Beginning
600 years ago, in a small field a few miles from a small village, there stood a stone circle.
It was not the grand circle that stood not many miles away. Just a simple circle of stones,
One a person with no connection to the magical word, would feel but a tingle of the power it held.
This day, was very different, however, and the circle glowed under a dark, storm filled sky, a
red, smoky tinge filled the air. Fire boiled black smoke above the village, and screams could
be heard as the villagers tried hopelessly to save their lives.
A power unlike any the world had known or seen before, and darker than any that should walk
The earth loomed here, where peace once reigned. A power, called The Darkness, that threatened
To take the world in it's bleak grasp if left unchecked.
In the center of this simple circle, stood the two who would fight back this Darkness. Witches,
They were, ones who pulled from the earth, from the very fabric that weaved it. They knew what they faced.
The woman, standing against the wind, her red hair wild around her pale face, fear and determination, and a despair she fought back, all shown brightly from her crystal blue eyes. She clasped hands firmly with her mate.
The man, standing with his back straight and feet planted, cutting a handsome figure against the terrible wind and darkened sky, his blond hair ruffled, and his green eyes filled with anger and an eerie power. He held his love's hands tightly and met her gaze steadily, despite the fear echoing between them.
If they failed, the world ended.
If they succeeded, they lost each other for Lifetimes ahead.
It was a sacrifice they had to make. Their voices Rose to greet the Darkness, their power shook the earth with every word.
" Soul to soul, we are yet bound!
With our rope, we tightly wound!
Eleven Lifetimes yet to see!
To hold The darkness, tied tightly!
Always to find, never to hold!
Our sacrifice here is told!
Within this ground, you will stay!
Never to see the light of day!
Our love to build this prison strong
You will not break free from our bond!
Our lives given to seal your fate!
This curse we willingly take!
Our power strong to hold thee,
As we will, so mote it be!"
Their world's boomed over the sky, echoing. The Darkness shrunk from the sky, as if brought down by invisible ropes. The earth shook, and the sky was as if alive. They bent to each other, sealing their fate with one last kiss. Death took them quickly, and where they lay, a monster was now shackled deep below the ground, held there with the very bonds that had tied their souls together.
