CHAPTER NINE That night, I stood in front of the glass display of Harold Golden’s watch, my arms crossed in front of me, leaning against the engraving which explained its history and purpose. Normally, I’d be pretty tired, because I usually was in bed by midnight, but I’d drunk a large cup of coffee before leaving the Elastic Cave and so was wide awake, if a bit jittery. But I was starting to regret it, because I’d been standing here in front of the display for half an hour now and nothing had happened, at least nothing that would require me to use my powers.
