Chapter 15

832 Words
I arrived home at around 1:30AM. I snuck inside and went up to my room where I lay in bed processing what had happened tonight. I was changing into my pajamas when my phone lit up on the end of my bed. My heart started to race when I saw who it was, Grey. Grey: Hey, I'm really sorry about tonight and I hope you got home OK. x Another followed shortly after. Grey: You might already be asleep, in that case - Good night, I hope you sleep well x. I typed a reply quickly. Me: I hope Juliet didn't give you too much grief! Good night x My stomach filled with butterflies as I rolled over and shut my eyes. It was late in the morning when I finally woke up. I checked my phone eagerly to see if I had any new messages from Grey. Surprisingly, I had three. Aria: I hope no one noticed how late we got home last night at your house - my Dad was waiting up for me! Massive groan! Talk tomorrow x Aria: 2 weeks of grounding. What fun! I suddenly became nervous. I don't think anyone did hear me get home last night, but who knows? What if I get into more trouble? I cant afford more trouble at the moment. I groan and flop back onto my bed in exasperation. I check the last message. Grey: Good morning Babe! I hope you had a great sleep! I am going for a run through the forest between our packs. Meet me at the waterfall in about an hour if you are up. x I check the time the message was sent - only a few minutes ago. I could definitely make it in time. I grab my clothes and head to the shower. I don't think I have ever showered so fast in my life. Once I was ready, I braved the trip into the kitchen. "She's alive!" Paul laughs as he sees me walk through the door. Dad glares at him with disapproval. s**t. That is not good. "Good morning Willow." Dad says as he sits down at the table. "Morning!" I smile back. "You were out very late last night." he continued. I knew what was coming now. "I was with Aria. She dropped me home." I reply as I get a juice out of the fridge. "Remind me..." Dad sighs, "What time is your curfew again?" I sigh. "Midnight." I pick a banana out of the fruit bowl. "And what time did you get home?" Mum chimes in from her spot on the table behind the newspaper. "About one?" I question, knowing full well it was 1:30AM. "1:30AM!" Dad growls, pushing his chair out from the table as he stands. "Willow, you know better than this." Mum adds. "And at a party where Goliath Pack members are present!!!" Dad yells. "I didn't talk to any of them Dad." I plead, "I was just there with Aria. We danced." I explain. Well, I lied. "After everything this family has been through!" Mum shrieks. "I am very disappointed!" Dad sits back down. I can still see his fury in his eyes. "So disrespectful to your family. Paul has footy training this morning - he doesn't want to be woken up at 1:30AM. Today is your Mum and my only day off - we don't want to be tired for it!" "I'm sorry Dad." I sigh. The saying 'you catch more bees with honey' is very relevant right now. "Aria's mother said they have grounded her for two weeks. You will be too." Mum says sternly. I nod in agreement. I am furious but don't want to make it worse. I think about how I am going to meet Grey, now I am grounded. "I'm just going to go for a walk to calm down." I say to my parents. I wait for their reaction. Mum looks at Dad and shrugs her shoulders. "Be back in an hour. And take Kip, she needs a walk." Dad answers and nods his head to our lazy dalmatian on the floor. Kip follows me to the laundry to collect her lead and we head out the front door. She was bouncing around like she had won the lottery. She doesn't get taken for a walk as often as she should so she gets overly excited when we manage to fit one in. Her tail was wagging, she was whining excitedly and pushing her wet nose up onto my leg to get me to hurry up. She was matching my energy for our walk that's for sure! Kip and I practically run down the road to get to the forest strip as fast as possible. I know the way to the waterfall like the back of my hand - Aria and I used to play here as kids, pretending it was a secret garden of a castle. Kip trots along beside me happily the whole way.
