The witch’s remark echoed in my mind. I was ready to give everything to find Kara, but it turns out I don’t have much to offer. She needed a connection to her, someone blood-related or something significant to her.
Kara had already lost her immediate family, her mother, thanks to Ruis, and her sister died because I didn’t listen to her.
I also realized I didn’t know much about her to know which things were important to her. I don’t know her favorite book, what she does in her free time, or even the food she likes. I don’t know anything about her because I didn’t bother to care. She didn’t have a lot of things left either.
