I put down the book I was reading and heaved a sigh. I’m not exactly making any progress, and it’s frustrating. Maybe I was reading the wrong book? I really should have just asked Callista, but I don’t want to bother her. The witches had some sort of traditional festival today, and they were all out. She seemed excited when she told me yesterday, and I didn’t want to ruin her mood.
“Did Callista ask you to study all of that? Isn’t that a lot?”
I lifted my head and gave myself a mini-heart attack. My body automatically backed away in surprise and lost my balance. I closed my eyes in anticipation of pain, but felt a hand holding me to regain my balance.
“Are you okay?” Luigi asked with worry. He leaned on the counter to grab and save me.
Luigi slowly pulled me so I wouldn’t stumble
