Chapter Nineteen

The pack house felt different the next morning — heavier, quieter, as if everyone sensed the shift in the air. Even the allied warriors moved with a strange tension, their voices low, their eyes sharp. Something was coming. Something big. Selena paced inside me, restless. Today, she whispered. Something will happen today. I didn’t know what she meant, but the unease settled deep in my chest. I stepped into the hallway and nearly collided with Lindsey, who was carrying a tray of muffins. “Whoa!” she laughed. “Morning, Luna.” “Morning,” I said, though my voice sounded distant even to me. She studied my face. “You okay?” “I don’t know,” I admitted. “Selena’s… unsettled.” Lindsey nodded slowly. “Mine is too. The whole pack feels off.” We walked together toward the dining room, where breakfast was already underway. The room was full — warriors from all four packs, Alphas, Betas, Omegas — all gathered around long tables. The noise was loud, but the energy was tense. Jayden spotted me instantly and stood, pulling out a chair beside him. “Sit,” he said softly. “Eat.” I sat between Jayden and Hayden while Kayden took the seat across from me. Jonah sat at the end of the table, watching me with quiet intensity. “Morning, Zendrea,” he said. “Morning.” He hesitated. “The doctor sent word.” My heart stopped. Jayden leaned forward. “What did he say?” Jonah shook his head. “He didn’t give results yet. But he said he needs to speak with all of us. Together.” Selena surged forward. It’s time. I swallowed hard. “When?” “After breakfast,” Jonah said. “He’s waiting in the medical wing.” The room felt suddenly too small, too loud, too bright. My mates sensed it immediately — Jayden placed a hand on my back, Hayden rested his hand on my knee, and Kayden reached across the table to squeeze my fingers. “We’re with you,” Kayden said quietly. I nodded, though my stomach twisted with nerves. Breakfast passed in a blur. I barely tasted the food. Every heartbeat felt like a countdown. When we finished, Jonah stood. “Let’s go.” The walk to the medical wing felt endless. Warriors stepped aside as we passed, bowing their heads respectfully. I felt their eyes on me — curious, hopeful, anxious. When we reached the medical wing, the pack doctor was waiting outside his office, holding a sealed envelope. He bowed deeply. “Alphas. Luna. Alpha Jonah.” My heart hammered. “Are the results ready?” Jayden asked. “Yes,” the doctor said. “I ran the test three times to be certain.” Jonah’s jaw tightened. “And?” The doctor held out the envelope. “You should open it together.” Jayden took it, but instead of opening it, he looked at me. “Zendrea,” he said softly, “this is your choice.” My breath trembled. “Open it.” Jayden nodded and broke the seal. The room fell silent. Even the air seemed to stop moving. He unfolded the paper slowly. His eyes scanned the page. His breath caught. Hayden leaned in. “Jayden?” Kayden’s voice was barely a whisper. “What does it say?” Jayden looked up at me — and his eyes were soft, full of something like awe. “Zendrea…” he said quietly. “You’re Marisol.” The world tilted. I felt my knees weaken, but Jonah stepped forward instantly, catching my arm. His eyes were shining — not with tears, but with relief so deep it hurt to look at. “You’re my sister,” he whispered. Selena surged forward, howling inside me — a sound of recognition, of joy, of home. I covered my mouth with my hand, tears spilling down my cheeks. “I… I’m really her?” Jonah nodded, voice thick. “Yes. You’re Marisol. You’re my twin.” My mates closed in around me, their expressions a mix of shock, pride, and fierce protectiveness. Jayden cupped my face gently. “You’re still our Luna. Nothing changes that.” Hayden rested his forehead against mine. “We’re not losing you.” Kayden wrapped an arm around my waist. “You’re ours. Always.” Jonah stepped closer, his voice soft. “And you’re mine too. My sister. My family.” I looked at him — really looked — and saw it clearly now. The resemblance. The connection. The bond. The missing piece that had always felt hollow inside me. It wasn’t hollow anymore. I threw my arms around Jonah, and he hugged me tightly, holding me as if afraid I’d disappear again. “I’ve been looking for you my whole life,” he whispered. I cried harder. “I didn’t know.” “I know,” he said gently. “But you’re here now.” My mates watched quietly, their expressions softening as they saw the moment unfold. They didn’t pull me away. They didn’t interrupt. They understood. When Jonah finally released me, Jayden stepped forward and wrapped me in his arms. “You’re incredible,” he murmured. “And now we know why.” Hayden kissed the top of my head. “You were born extraordinary.” Kayden rested his forehead against mine. “And you’re ours.” Jonah smiled softly. “And she’s mine.” I laughed through my tears. “I guess I belong to a lot of people.” Jayden smirked. “You belong exactly where you’re meant to be.” The doctor cleared his throat gently. “There’s more.” We all turned. He held out another paper. “Your mother… Luna Rose… she’s already on her way.” My breath caught. “She’s coming here?” “Yes,” the doctor said. “She left as soon as she heard the results.” Jonah’s eyes softened. “She’s waited twenty‑one years for this moment.” My heart raced. My mother — my real mother — was coming. And everything in my world was about to change again.
