The bell rang, and we all trugged toward school. The first three classes I had was with at least one of the triplets, so I had one of them with me in between those classes. after fourth period, I walked with my best friend Lindsey to lunch. I heard someone shout my name as we walked into the cafeteria. I turned to see who had called my name and saw the triplets at a table waving me over. Lindsey c****d an eye brow at me
"What the hell is that about?" She questioned me.
"I have no idea. I better go see what they want. They are the future Alphas, after all." I rushed away with Lindsey gaping at my back.
"Hey Alphas, what can I do for you?" Jayden frowned
"Don't call us that. It's just Jayden Hayden and Kayden to you." I grinned, liking the sound of their name.
"Yes, Jayden. What can I do for you?" He grinned at the sound of me saying his name.
"You and Lindsey come eat with us, please." My mouth dropped.
"Ummm, sure. Let me go get her." I rushed back to Lindsey, and she looked at me with questions in her eyes.
"Uh hey Linds, the guys want us to eat lunch with them today." Like mine, her mouth dropped open.
"Are you kidding me? The hunky Alphas want us to sit with them! Let's go." She squealed in excitement. Lindsey's dark hair belowing behind her. Her brown eyes shined with excitement. I laughed at my best friends' antics. She had always had a crush on the mysterious Kayden. He was quiet and only talked to his brother, me, and his girlfriend.
"So, where are your girlfriends?" I asked as we sat down.
"Pshhhh, we dumped them." Kayden said with a frown. "We never realized how awful they were until this morning when they talked about you like they did."
" OH no," I said, fear evident in my eyes. "I'm defenently going to pay for that." I said, staring down at the table.
"I swear to you Zendrea, they touch you, and they will have to deal with me. I'm not happy that they have already been getting away with it and you haven't told us or our parents. We could have protected you."
"I'm sorry, but how was I to know all the teasing was because you guys thought I was cute?"
"Okay, true, but still, my parents could have helped."
"I didn't want to burden them with high-school drama. They have been so great to me." Jayden nodded but seemed dissatisfied.
We ate the rest of lunch in silence, but all the boys kept watching me with amusement. Lindsey kept looking at Kayden, but he didn't seem to notice. We all stood at the same time to go to our next class.
"So, is everyone ready for the dance tonight?" Lindsey asked. I groaned.
"We don't have dates, Linds." I said.
"Ummm, we can still go together." She said, pouting. She had just turned eighteen today and was ready to meet her mate. We rounded the corner, and she almost collided with Zane, the triplets' future beta and best friend. She froze and stared up at him.
At the same time, they said, "Mate." Zane pulled Lindsey closer to him.
"Go to the dance with me." His blond hair hung just down to his forhead. His green eyes hopeful. Lindsey nodded, and he smiled down at her. He took her hand and continued on with us.
"Guys, I'll catch up. I have to go to the bathroom." I said.
"We can wait for you." Hayden said, obviously not wanting me to be left alone.
"It's okay. I'll see you guys in class." Jayden frowned but decided to let me get my way. I didn't know what was going on with them and why all of a sudden, they were so possessive over me. I walked into the bathroom but got cornered by Brittany and her goons.
"Do you really think you can steal our boyfriends and come out of this unscathed?" Brittany asked. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Brittany, did you ever think it's your crappy personality that caused them to break up with you guys?" She slapped me.
"Don't talk to your future Luna that way!" She screeched at me.
"You will never be my Luna!" I spat at her. Hillary grabbed a hand full of my hair.
"How dare you talk to her like that you ugly b***h!" Hillary and Rebecca Held me down while Brittany and Shelby took turns kicking any part of me they could reach. I was close to unconsciousness when I heard three angry growls and the room went dead silent. It was in that moment I let the darkness take me.
I sat in the middle of the darkness, looking out into the unknown. Suddenly, I saw a light walking toward me. I don't know how I knew that it was the moongoddess, but I did.
"My child, how are you?"
"Confused moon goodness. Where am I?"
"I have brought you here because I have to tell you I have a big plan for you and your triplets."
"But they aren't my triplets, I chuckled at her."
"OH, but they are my child. I chose them especially for you. They will make great mates for you."
" Mates! Did you just day, mates?"
"Indeed I did. Stay in this pack, Zendrea. They are going to need you. If you leave, you seal their fate and condemn the entire pack to death." I gasped.
"No, moongoddess. I can't let that happen. I love this pack. I'm just tired of Brittany and her goons."
"They will get what's coming to them. Just be patient, my dear. and stand strong next to your Alphas. They need you."
A loud beeping stirred me from my slumber. I opened my eyes slowly, moaning painfully. My body hurt everywhere.
Kayden rose from a chair across the room.
"Zendrea, you're awake," He signed in relief. "The guys will be back soon. They are finishing up some stuff." I nodded, but the movement made my head ache. I closed my eyes and soon drifted back off to sleep.
