Strangers

1010 Words
Freya I had a tough time sleeping last night. I was mortified with what Galen had done in front of all his guests and especially in front of his brother, Revan. Then, there was what Liz said. If this mage could help me it might be worth talking to her but there were rules that shouldn't be broken in the supernatural world. If she helped Galen's father in any way, she can't be a good mage. No supernatural creature would ever help an evil man. There were rules forbidding that. The fairies helped me because I had been left alone and I chose to live away from the humans who hurt and betrayed my family. I also did help Jasper so I knew someday I might have to deal with my own karma for that. I probably already was. I lost Revan, not once but many times. I had been captured by the Lycan king and now by Galen. The freedom that I had fought for all my life was now gone. "Did you enjoy the party?" Galen asked as he entered my room. "Was there a point to that?" I questioned. "To show everyone in that room, that you are mine," he said sternly. "Did you have a problem with that?" "Not at all," I smiled. This was like being with Aizen all over again. If I earned his trust maybe just maybe I can find a way out of here. Aizen at least turned out to be somewhat decent and bearable but Galen. His eyes seemed to show so much darkness lurking inside. I could only hope it never surfaces to the outside. "I have some business to take care of in the south village," Galen said. "I will be back tomorrow. I have people watching your every move so don't do anything stupid." Galen walked closer to me and kissed me forcibly. I tried to push him off of me but it was useless. He was too strong to move. I spent most of my day in my room. Liz told me I should go take a walk through the gardens by the hill. I didn't mind staying inside but I guess a walk go do me some good. I could possibly find a nice friend to talk to. I began walking through the lush garden. There were so many beautiful blue and white orchids. "You are very beautiful," I said to the petals. "Thank you," they whispered. "Well, at least they are treating you guys right," I told them. They just blew in the wind but I knew that was their way of laughing. "Someone's coming," they whispered. I turned around and saw Revan. I began walking quickly towards the hill. "Freya wait," Revan called. I turned around. Hearing my name coming from his lips was enough to make my knees go weak. "Revan, stop," I said. "I don't want to do this. I can't." Revan grabbed my elbow and pulled me to the edge of the hill. "I remember everything," he said. "After everything, I remember every moment." "Don't please, you're just making it worse," I cried. "Freya," he said softly. "My brother is cruel and I wish. I am sorry. I am sorry I can't do anything about it. I want to stop him. No, I want to kill him." "Revan," "I can't, I won't," he said. "You are not the only one he holds prisoner here. My siblings and even Hazel are trapped here. If I try to stop him now, I will lose. I need to find a way to get the upper hand. He always seems to know what I am thinking." "What do you mean?" I asked. "I have tried to run away. I have tried to run to you. I have wanted to go find you ever since all my memories came back but he stops me. Hazel was meant to be his wife but he forced her on me. He told me he would find you and make you his queen." "So, what can we do?" "He's changed. He is not my brother," Revan said. "He is not the man he used to be. He is slowly becoming less of a man and more of a monster. I need to kill him." "What?" "I know, I know," "There has to be another way," I said. "If there is, we need to find it, fast or else it will be the end of us," he said. "I won't wait for that to happen. I won't wait until your wedding day." "Revan, I, I don't know what to say," I looked away from him. Revan came behind me and held me tight. "I love you, I love you with all my heart and soul, Freya," he said. "I won't let him hurt anyone else. I'll stop him. For now, I have to be a stranger and watch. Watch my love endure cruelty and suffering. I will have to pretend like you mean nothing to me. I will have to keep pretending to love another. I won't ask you to wait for me. I won't ask you to keep me in your heart as I will keep you in mine but please. If you feel any bit of as much love for me as I feel for you. You will wait. I will set you free. I will bring us back together. I will kill my brother." "Revan, I will wait for you in this eternity and the next," I cried. Revan slowly turned me around and we looked into each other's eyes. We knew this was only going to get worse. He pulled me into a deep passionate kiss. His lips were firm and yet soft. I didn't want to pull away. We both knew everything would be as if I had erased it from our memories. We would walk away from each other and be nothing but strangers to one another. And so, after five blissful joyous minutes, we tore apart. He went his way and I went mine.
