Mr. Coventry. Jasper Coventry was a man that came from a working-class family. He was tall and had long black hair. He looked strong. Jasper took care of his family. He loved his wife but he was still a cruel man. I had seen this first hand with how he treated Revan. And now, here this man was in front of me trying to intimidate me.
"So, are you going to tell me?" he asked again.
"I have no idea what you mean," I stepped closer to him and tried to look him in the eye. "I need you to forget everything you think you know." I tried to use my power but he quickly grabbed my wrists.
"See, I don't know how you did it but I know you made me forget you. You made my i***t son forget you too," Jasper said. "Why?"
"How did you know?"
"A hunch, I guess," his grin made me see he was lying.
"Right," I said. "What do you want?"
"What else can you do?" he asked.
"I'm not sure what you mean," I said honestly.
"Don't play stupid now," he replied. "I know that can't be your only talent. Am I right?" I tried not to let my face give anything away.
"Nope, just that," I smiled.
"You might not want to tell me now but I think I know of a way that can get you to talk," he said. Jasper just turned around like nothing and walked away.
I stayed home for the rest of the day. I didn't really know what else to do. I was still worried about what Jasper said and I was more worried about Arthur and Georgina's wounds. I wish there was something I could do.
It was already dark out when I heard a loud scream. It sounded like someone was in a lot of pain. I ran out of my home and followed the horrific cries.
"Revan," I suddenly saw Revan lying on the ground. I turned him over and saw a dagger puncturing his side. "What happened? Who did this to you?" Revan could barely keep his eyes open. I tried to pick him up as best as I could and brought him deeper into the forest. "Please weeping willow tree, I beg of you. Help me save him. Give up your life for his. I know it is too much to ask but I will give anything to save him."
The weeping willow leaves blew back and forth in the wind.
"If you think he is worthy but just know this child. There will be consequences," the willow tree spoke.
"I will take whatever consequences, please just save him," I begged.
"Very well but the consequences might not be just yours alone to bear," the willow tree added. Suddenly leaves from the weeping willow began to fall over Revan. There was a golden light covering his body and then suddenly the tree and Revan's wound disappeared.
"What happened?" Revan asked. "I was, I was."
"It's okay," I said. "You're okay now." I helped Revan stand up. "Remember me," I whispered.
"Freya," he spoke softly. "Why does it feel like I haven't seen you in years." I caressed his cheek and kissed him deeply.
"I knew there was more to you," Jasper said. "I knew if I hurt this fool you would help him."
"Mr. Coventry," I said. "You stabbed your son. For what to see if I had the power to save him?"
"It worked, I now know you have more gifts," he said. "I want you to do something for me."
"I don't care what you want, I won't help you," I said boldly.
"Then, I just have to kill him again," Jasper said.
"HE'S YOUR SON!" I shouted.
"And? I have 3 more just like him, better actually," he commented.
"You bastard,"
"You love him so why not help me out with a simple favor and then you can live happily ever after with this fool,"
"What do you want?"
"I WANT TO BE KING!"
Seven Years Later
I made all of the villagers believe Jasper was king. They built their kingdom within a year. He took over neighboring villages and wiped out those who opposed him. He became ruthless and evil. I begged the fairies to help me and make my power stronger. I made him forget about me. I wanted to take Revan with me but he locked him away. Jasper knew the only leverage he had was keeping Revan away from me, hurting him was the only way he could keep me by his side. I thought if I wasn't around anymore then Revan would be set free or so I hoped. I was now nothing more than a lonely white wolf running around the forest. Revan was set free as I came to find out sometime later. Revan every once in a while would walk through the forest as if he was looking for something or perhaps someone. I didn't dare interact with him. I was too scared. I didn't need to have a repeat of what happened all those years ago. Maybe his life was better off.
"Damn, I think this time I actually got lost," I heard Revan say. I hid behind some bushes. I didn't want him to see me. Even if he would not recognize me in this form I didn't want to be too close to him. "s**t, I really think I am lost." I tried to slowly run the other way but my paw suddenly got caught in a trap. I let out a painful howl.
"What was that," Revan came running towards me. "Oh my, are you okay?" I whimpered in pain I fell to the ground and Revan fell to his knees. "It's going to be okay. It doesn't look that bad." Revan looked genuinely worried about me. I couldn't help but nuzzle into his touch. His caress was so soft and tender. I wanted to run from him but my paw still hurt and well I really didn't want to run but I knew I should. Who knew this was gonna be the night that changed everything.
