Chapter 8

Ella POV

Today is Friday that means I have to go to that party. This whole week I hardly see Aiden because the workload was too much. Olivia and I are getting ready at my apartment.

“Ok go change Ella then I will make your hair,” Olivia said. I smiled at her and went to change.

My dress was a sleeveless long red dress and it was backless. Stella had insisted that I bought this when we went shopping, and she forgot to mention that it was a masquerade party. Olivia had also changed into her clothes. We both did our makeup. After that, I did Olivia's hair.

She wanted an updo. I added some beads too. After that Olivia did my hair. It was quite difficult, to be honest, but Olivia insisted that it will look good.

We both were now ready. Olivia's husband will come to pick us both. I opened my drawer and picked my mothers pendant and wear it. I was about to close the drawer when Olivia stopped my hand.

“Oh my god Ella why do you have a g*n,” she asked me with shock evident on her face.

Every colour from my face drained. I don't know what to tell her. I gulped and looked at her.

“Um...th-that's m-my fathers g-g*n,” I said stuttering.

“But why you have it and that too in your drawer,” she asked while eyeing the g*n.

“Um...one day I was late from work. I felt like was someone following me but I ignored it. when I was about to enter my house someone put a hand on my mouth and pushed me inside. He was a drunk person who followed me. He t-tried to r**e me, but I was successful in knocking him down. From that day I keep my fathers g*n with me.” I lied straight through my teeth. Wow! Im good at this.

“Oh, honey I'm so sorry,” Olivia said while giving me a hug. Thank god she believed me. I had made this story when my friend from the café saw my g*n. Suddenly our doorbell ring. We both went towards it.

“Hey babe,” Olivia said while kissing her husband. 

“Hey,” her husband said after the kiss. They both were a cute couple if you ask me.

“This is my friend Ella. Ella this is Logan, my husband.” Olivia introduced us.

“Hey Ella,” Logan said while giving me a hug. I was taken aback but returned the hug. 

“Hey Logan it's nice to meet you,” I said smiling. 

“Logan doesn't have any sister so that's why he treats Stella and now you as his little sisters. Get used to it” Olivia said while rolling her eyes.

“Oh ok,” I said smiling. Huh! Isn't it too early to make me his sister? It was still a bit awkward but what could I say.

We went towards Logan car and went on our way. All the way I and Logan talked and c***k some jokes. He was very funny and friendly. We arrived in the hall. Yes, he had booked a full hall for his birthday. We wore our masks and went inside and before we could even think, Stella jumped at us.

“Wow look at you guys. You both look ravishing. Hey bro” she greeted us and give Logan a bear hug.

“Look at you, you look stunning,” I said smiling. she was wearing a red dress with a slit.

“Why the masquerade ball though?” Logan asked. I was thinking the same thing. Noah didn't strike me as a masquerading type.

“It was Noah little sister who gave this idea,” Stella said smiling.

“Where is Noah” Olivia asked. 

“Wait let me get him,” Stella said while running off. We ordered our drinks and talked for some time. After a while Noah came, we wished him and gave him his gifts while Logan and Noah did their manly handshake.

“You look gorgeous Ella,” Noah said smiling at me.

“Thanks, you look good too,” I said. He looked handsome but I didn't say that.

Noah and I talked for some time. He was telling me embarrassing stories about Aiden. I liked Noah. He was very cheery. We were laughing when I felt a hand on my bareback. I shivered and looked behind and saw Aiden. I already know it was Aiden because of the sparks I felt. He was looking devilishly handsome. He smiled at me. I nervously smiled back.

“You look breathtaking,” he said close to my ear.

“Thank you. I will come back in a minute.” I said while standing up. I went outside to get some air. I don't know why but I was quite nervous when I met Aiden. I'm the weirdest person ever who loves running when a guy approaches her.

Noah POV

We both saw Ella practically ran away. What's with her?

“Why she always run away from you dude,” I asked Aiden.

“How would I know that but I still like her,” he said with a smile on his face.

“Wait a second you like her? Like really like her?”I asked shocked because he doesn't do relationships.

“Yeah, I like her. She fascinates me. But sometimes its look like that she is hiding something.... something big but I don't know what. Anyway, I'm going for lunch with James tomorrow. You want to come?” he asked. James was our other friend. We don't hang out much because he is always busy. He is a very successful investigator.

“Sure message me the place and time,” I said. We both had drinks and talked for some time.

“I'm going to go and find Stella. Don't go anywhere I'm just coming.”I said while standing up. I haven't seen Stella in a while and I'm already missing her. Yes, I'm a lovesick puppy. I searched for a while, but she was nowhere to be found. Maybe she went outside. I went to check outside but she was not there. I was about to go inside when I heard some voices. I checked to my side and saw 4 to 5 people were surrounding Ella, but she doesn't seem affected. Suddenly someone tried to slap her, but she caught his hand and kick him where the sun doesn't shine. The second man pointed the g*n at her and was saying something to her. I couldn't hear them so I went close to them but I make sure that they don't see me because maybe Ella will need me.

“Don't even try...I will kill you and believe me I will enjoy every minute of it.”Ella said while smirking evilly.

“Oh come on we just need one hour with you.” Another guy slurred. They were surely drunk.

“I did warn you,” Ella said sighing and suddenly snatch the g*n and pointed at them.

“You think you can shoot us.” the guy said while laughing.

“Oh I know how to use a g*n I was born with these guns but yet I can't shoot you,” Ella said. Suddenly she hit the guy with the g*n and get a hold of his arm and broke it. Another guy launched himself at her, but she easily dodged him and broke his neck. Ouch! In a minute all five men were on the ground groaning. She threw the g*n away and went inside the hall but I was glued to my spot. What the f**k had happened? I took my phone out of my pocket in a hurry and called the ambulance. After 5 minutes ambulance came and took those guys to the hospital. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. How the hell can she fight like that? She looked like a professional. I composed myself and went inside.
