The meeting in the Xalie Valley was already taking longer than I expected. Not only were they questioning me for taking over the Rufous Moon pack, but they were ready to blame me for inciting the war going on between the witches, werebears, and our kind. If I had gone with the initial plan of sending Jason in my place, not only would they succeed in pushing some undeserved blames my way, but they would also take disciplinary action to that effect. Not that it will affect me in any way, but it’s a good thing I went because I have a few grievances of my own and what better place to address them than in the meeting. Besides, Jason wouldn’t have been able to deal with those old geezers the way I would.
