Aleric's POV I had no idea how long I had slept for, but I felt well rested and contented. There was a mild and satisfying mint and lemon grass scent around, enveloping me. This wasn't my bed. It is softer and more comfortable to sleep on, but it doesn't feel like the one I am used to sleeping on. Remembering how I came to be here, I was pleased that I didn't get kicked off the bed. When I turned to look at my mate, who I assumed should still be sleeping, she wasn't there, I was alone in bed. Panicked, I looked towards the window. Did she wait for me to fall asleep and make a run for it a second time? Was she repulsed by me so much that she couldn't even stand my sleeping close to her?
