The Underways screamed.
Towers of black stone leaned and shattered. Silver rivers reversed in violent torrents, flooding bridges with burning light. Entire districts of the hidden city collapsed into darkness.
Lena ran across a cracking causeway toward the Heart Vault.
Elias stumbled behind her.
“I miss normal disasters!”
Selene kept pace effortlessly.
“You never experienced normal.”
“That was emotionally supportive.”
Behind them, two Adrians tore through pillars and walls in flashes of steel and silver eyes.
Every impact sounded personal.
The Sovereign struck like precision.
Adrian fought like refusal.
Cassian, bleeding and ecstatic, limped after them all with a stolen blade.
“This,” he shouted, “is leadership!”
