Freedom Series - Diety Rose

My name is Deity Rose, a 16 year old heiress. My family owns Rose oil Incorporated. Now when you hear that word heiress, You would assume my life would be full and wonderful right? Being enormously wealthy and having everything I want at my finger tips would be anyone's dream and don't get me wrong I'm not trying to sound like the spoilt poor rich girl story. Life was great and then the Rose family curse struck and my parents were murdered. Its just how it's been since my great great great grandfather. The firstborn child of a Rose never reaches the age of 35, my family history is filled with death and they are all men up until me, I am the first girl in a long line of Rose men. My great great great grandfather was Nelson Rose he is who I think it all started from. It is hearsay that Nelson Rose murdered his bestfriend Corban Le'strange who was from New Orleans, His family was from the deep south and it was said that his mother was a witch doctor that dabbled in the dark arts of voodoo. Stella, Nelson's young wife fell pregnant and a day after telling Nelson he was going to be a father, Nelson at 30 years old was struck by a train and his body was too mangled that they had no choice but to cremate which was against Rose's wishes. Apparently Corban's mother showed upto the wake and stood sporting a sly and accomplished grin at his urn then walked over to Stella and whispered "mort à tes lignées fils premiers-nés" which translates to "death to your lines first born sons". And so it has been since that day, No Rose man had made it past his 35th birthday. My great grandfather was Frank Rose he died when he was 34 years old and at the prime of his life. My great grandmother Hetty was 8 months pregnant with my grandpa Joe, people say she died the day Frank did, she lost her mind and was sent to a hospital for the wealthy where she resided until her death. My grandpa Joe was well looked after in the family home, that was one thing that Hetty did for him, she made damn sure he inherited everything before she died. Grandpa Joe went on to marry my grandma Silvy and they would have twins, my father Ben the oldest by two minutes and my uncle George. But like clockwork the Rose curse would strike and my grandpa Joe and my grandma Silvy's lives would end. Their private plane plummeted into the ocean on their way to the Maldives, grandpa Joe was celebrating his 31st birthday. My papa would step into his father's shoes at 17 years old while George went to school and experienced a normal life without the stresses of having to run the family oil company. Papa was also promised to one Hillary Whitmore when he turned 18 as apart of an arranged marriage deal my grandpa Joe made with his best friend multi billionaire Ross Whitmore, but as fate would have it my father would break contract at age 17 and fall in love. Sarah Jones my mother, a beautiful red headed, blue eyed nobody caught the eye of my papa while she was riding her bike outside the Rose home gates papa didn't see her as he was on his phone and clipped the back wheel of her bike with his car sending her head first into a thorn filled bush. When he tried to help her up she punched him square in the nose and they both ended up in the emergency room, I don't really know how they fell in love but that is how they met. A year later they had a baby and a secret wedding. My mother was kept hidden away from papa's family and friends until I was born, the first Rose girl in generations to be born. Papa announced their nuptials and my birth on my his 18th birthday, the day he was meant to have married Hillary which sent shockwaves through the entire community. The papers called it "Thorn in the Rose's" Thorns being me and my mother. Being the oldest twin and the one who inherited everything, my papa knew he had to keep the contract with the Whitmore's, He knew this was not what his brother wanted but without a breath papa contracted his brother George to marry Hillary to insure the family tie and to honor his fathers deal. George was furious as he had no plans of marrying and wanted to travel the world. George had no choice as my father was the head of the family and begrudgingly married Hillary. My childhood is filled with beautiful memories with my parents who loved one another deeply and loved me even more. but one memory would stain the most and that would be the screams of my parents and coming down the stairs to find my parents bodies tied to one another in a pool of blood which spilled onto the white marbled floors. My parents died the youngest of all the Rose's. I was only 6 years old and inherited everything. It's ten years later and I still wonder why I was left unscathed. There was speculation that the murderers were passing through our town and knew our family had money, some rumors said papa made some bad deals that went stale. Some even speculated that it was my uncle George who was the one who orchestrated the invasion as revenge, but I being too young found that rumour to be ridiculous up until my uncle George was made my trust holder until I reached the legal age of 21. An age living with my uncle and his awful wife I would probably never reach had it not been for my mother's sister and my saving grace Aunt Trinny.
