Selene started to make her way home, the moon guiding her every step. Suddenly the atmosphere seemed to shift around her. She felt like something was tugging at her, pulling a heart string to lead her somewhere. The smell of flowers and woods took over her senses, while her palms became clamy. What was going on with her suddenly?
She looked up as if suddenly someone called her name. Brownish amber eyes met hers and she felt like she was going to melt. Why did she suddenly want to throw everything in her arms down and jump into his? She clung to her bags tighter, resisting the urge.
He was gorgeous, but he looked like he was about to kill her. As she passed him the hair on her arms started to lift. It felt like a surge of lightning passed through her, and it felt good. Her heart started to beat faster and something in her screamed. She turned to look at him just once more, as he glared back at her. Shock ran over her face, why would a stranger suddenly hater her with just a glance? He seemed to mouth something before he turned away to catch up with his friends.
"I reject you." A whisper rung in her ears. Just seconds later she started to feel light headed. Selene didn't know why she suddenly felt sick to her stomach, but the urge to puke flooded her the moment she turned the corner. She started to slow in her pace as she felt like her whole world was crashing around her. What was going on? One moment she suddenly felt like nothing could ever harm her or hurt her, and then the next moment she felt like someone tried to rip her entire heart and organs out with a plastic spoon. She paused and leaned against the wall to support herself. Her apartment wasn't far, she just had to catch her breath before she could continue. Unfortunately the pain didn't end that night, is just got worse. She normally enjoyed the full Moons, but tonight she laid in bed as her head spun. A crushing weight sat on her chest as she felt like everything she had ever loved was taken from her. The only sleep she got that night was when she finally cried herself to sleep mere minutes before the sun rose. Her body in so much pain that she couldn't bare to be awake any longer.
When Selene finally woke up, it took her hours to move. Her body was numb and her heart still felt broken. What did she get sick with? Why did it feel like someone broke a promise? When she was finally able to move her body, although it was still excruciatingly painful, she forced herself to get to work. She was to organize the library tonight, and there was no skipping it.

Theo and his friends returned to the pack lands about 2 hours later. They weren't far from the human town, but far enough to have plenty of land for themselves.
The pain Theo felt from the rejection was unfortunately not going away. He thought it was supposed to be quick and easy. Humans didn't have the same rules and traditions as wolves, so when a wolf rejects a human the human doesn't even have to know. It's supposed to be quick and painless, so why was he starting to like he made the wrong choice.
"Hey, you okay?" One of his friends asked, pulling him from his thoughts. Bishop wasn't just Theos best friend, he was his little brother and his Beta. "I know you're nervous about the proposal, but Dude you gotta relax. You look like you're gonna kill someone." Bishop laughed at himself and patted Theo on the back. "You go get some rest, hang out with your woman. We got watch tonight."
Bishop grinned and then took off with the other two men with them. Leaving Theo to get to the main house himself.
A sigh of frustration with a groan at the end escaped Theo. He brushed his hair back, took in a deep breath and felt the gift box in his pocket. "Maybe I'm just nervous." He said to himself before heading to his home.
A smile greeted him at the door. It was Delmira, his soon to be fiance. She had short, strawberry blonde hair that framed her face perfectly. Her eyes were blue with little brown flakes in them. She was a warrior of the pack, but knew that she was chosen to be Luna soon. "Hey there stranger." Her voice was normally like warm honey to him, but right now it felt like pins and needles. He ignored the pain and kissed her.
"Hey there gorgeous. What's a fine thing like you just standing out here for?" Theo forced a smile to hide his pain. He didn't want her to know that not only did he find his mate, but that it was a human. He also didn't want her to feel bad. Mira was his chosen mate for a long time, long before they both couldn't find their fated ones. "Wanna take this up stairs?" He offered with a smirk.
As he kissed and loved on Mira, that human girl kept popping into his head. Her eyes burned into him as the wolf inside of him cried out in pain. What was wrong with him? He couldn't even enjoy the girl he thought he loved that night.
It was hours before he was able to get to sleep. A pounding headache rang in his ears as his wolf made his mind miserable. He would have to see the packs Elder in the morning, find out why the rejection didn't work.
