The drive to Dee and Sephi’s was filled with laughter as the women talked. When the group arrived at the house, they were delighted to see Dee’s SUV parked out front. That meant everyone was home, and hopefully, Roxy would soon know what her surprise was.
Roxy was excited and feeling surprisingly good after her adventure. She had expected to be in much more pain than she was. As a gift to Thea, when she graduated from high school, Roxy had taken her to have her ears pierced multiple times. Thea had talked her mother into having her ears pierced in a similar fashion. Roxy remembered how her ears throbbed for days afterward but admitted it was worth the pain. What she did today would be worth it, too.
