When Dee awoke, it was still dark outside. He needed to speak with Reginald about something vitally important to him. Dee slipped out of bed quietly to avoid waking Sephi. She and Roxy had been up late, discussing their excursion to the underworld after Chris had gone to bed. Now, it was Dee’s turn to make the trip. He quickly dressed and left the room. As he padded down the hallway with bare feet, he stifled a laugh when he passed Chris’ room. The pair were sleeping in the same position on their backs. The dog was lying beside Chris, using the pillow as he snored loudly. He was amazed at how quickly they had bonded and became nearly inseparable.
