HEARTS OF WAR

My name is tissle and I lived in a small village called "Sanville" I have never believed in supernatural beings and those were my grandmother favourite stories she never misses an opportunity to tell people about her stories of how supernatural beings and humans co exist I am her number one audience,I have heard those stories countless times that I have mastered them all but I always believed that "SEEING IS BELIEVING" and I haven't seen any other creatures aside humans. my grandmother is the only family I have left I don't know anything about my parents and old g doesn't want to tell me she always avoided the topic with a pained look on her face,she said soon I will get all my answers sometimes I feel sad when my friends go out with their parent or celebrate their birthday,I don't even know my birthday and age;how is that possible but that's just the clueless life I live.my old g is a herbalist actually the best in the village no one knows how she got her talents I always helped her to make her herbs and cured the villagers recently there has been an outbreak of a strange plague and it is spreading fast and taking lives and old g is cooking up a new herb but she needs a special plant "tsanitus" that only grows in the woods everyone always avoided the woods except my old g and I,the villagers rumoured and whispered that we are witches but because we save their lives they don't complain how funny of people to assume and believe what they don't see,usually old g gets the herbs while I stay indoors but she insisted I go today. "please be careful my dear"old g said for the nth time she is too over protective this isn't my first time "okay old g I will"i wore my favourite black Cape,took a sack,snacks and some water then I set out for the woods. I hummed and jumped as I went on "oh how I love this feelings" there a huge field filled with different flowers of different colours the village think they are cursed flowers 'poor innocent flowers' the villagers fear everything aside from food,money and health.but FEAR is a dangerous virus that prevents us from experiencing life. I got to the edge of the woods and stared at the huge tall trees tangled together the deeper you go the darker and taller the woods get,no one has ever gotten too the end of it well none ever came back to tell the story that's why the villagers termed it cursed and choose to avoid it,I can't believe they gave up that fast and choose to fear what they don't know. me and old g always got our plants and stems at the edge of the woods so we didn't really have to go deeper I immediately sighted the yellow-red plant and I went ahead and plucked out as many as I could I then decided to rest since I got some time left I climbed a tree and found a comfortable branch to lay on,I was just about to close my eyes when I noticed movements down below and a glitchy figure and for the first time in my life i was actually scared because nobody ever enters the wood aside me and old g and our cottage is on the pathway to the woods so we will see anyone passing by and nobody ever follows that path,I slowly got down the tree,took the small knife out of my sack that I use for cutting stems and approached the figure when I got close I noticed the figure has stopped glitching and laying there was a naked girl about my size covered in bruises and dirt. "hey are you alive" I was scared to get close,I might be reckless but not too reckless to just approach a naked stranger in the woods "help me"she whispered and coughed terribly spitting out blood,I rushed back to my sack and took out my water gould. I helped her sit up and I feed her the water,she drank in such a rush like she has never taken water before. "are you okay" I was worried cos she didn't look good she opened her eyes slowing and looked at me and omg I have never seen such eyeballs before,the village though I had weird eyes cos my eyes were golden just like the sunset my old g says but nothing compares to this. she had red pupils and the white around it was so bright I felt like I was staring at morning clouds. "am cold"she said more audible this time around and man she has a rough voice,I took off my Cape and wrapped it around her body and helped her up "I will take you to my house to get healed and cleaned off" "ain't you afraid you are helping a stranger in the middle of no where who hasn't even told you her name"she was looking confused but with the mud on her face she looks more like an old woman "first of all this is the middle of somewhere second of all I didn't ask you for your name and lastly I don't need a reason to help an injured human" she huffed "human" "well then my saviour in the woods my name is ariel what's yours" "my name is tissle funny name right I don't even know what it means" I always wondered what my name meant and old g won't tell me seriously that old woman and her mysteries. ARIEL'S POV TISSLE that name rings a bell but I have forgotten where I heard it from and this mysterious girl isn't completely human,it's in her scent does she even know,she insisted to take me to her house that her grandmother could heal me if only she knew,she went on about how her grandmother was an excellent healer and how people thought they were witches I smirked if only the people knew what she really was they will have burned her a long time ago those hateful ungrateful beings every vamp,werewolves and fairies has being told of the war that happened 3000 years ago how the humans betrayed the our forefathers that helped them just because of power. since then supernatural beings cut all ties with humans and we disappeared to a place they could never find us,the ones who succeeded to locate us never made it back to tell the story and we never tried to contact them well until now and that's a mistake and story for another day. she kept talking as she helped me those bastards really did a number on me,we got to the field of flowers and I was shocked but I tried not to show it,these ain't human flowers these are the CANNATUS a very rare healing flower that heals any sort of sickness . "do you know what this flowers are" I asked her praying she had no idea though the chances are slim since she is half human. "no I don't know I also asked old g but she said she doesn't know we even experimented on them but it failed,but old g believes that every plant is a cure so we will keep trying" this people are unbelievable too optimistic,we walked across the field "that's our cottage" wow it's really an art to behold it's like big balls stuck together to make a house "that's a lovely place you got there" there was an old woman standing in front of the cottage "old g am back" the woman looked worried "oh dear child you scared me,I thought something happened to you and who have you got with you" "this is Ariel I found her wounded and battered up in the woods naked" "my lord what happened to you" she stepped closer to inspect me "such lovely eyes you've got" the way she was looking at me it's like she knows what I am "thank you ma" "OK tissle take her inside and lay her down" the exterior looked better and colourful and it smells of herbs but in a good way anyone who comes in, knows its an old woman living here, the old woman came with a wooden bowl of water and a towel "tiss get me a fresh liyti leave" OK now let me see your wounds little pup" well am not shocked she has a half wolf as a grand daughter of cos she will know a full one when she sees "ain't you afraid I will hurt you" "if you were going to hurt anyone then it's my tiss and you will have done that in the woods where no eyes will see" I guess they are just naturally nice humans she removed the cape and started wiping the dirt off my body "can I get those cannatus flowers I know how to use them,it will better than any herbs that will take time to heal me" "I always knew those strange flowers had a use" tissle came back at that time "what flowers old g" "the cannatus dear she knows how to use it" "that's why she was interested in them when we passed don't worry let me rush and get some" she rushed out excited "oh she has been wanting to know their use and I am also excited so do u need to grind or boil it" "no need of any of that" "well then how does it work" "you need to say an incantation" "oh magic no wonder I couldn't get the hang of it" my body started aching and glitching again I don't know what those bastards laced their fangs with but I have been getting weaker since then I hope those flowers clear everything out "oh dear what's happening to your body" "I also don't know but I was attacked by vamps and they grazed me with theirs fangs" "they must have done something because vamps attacks doesn't react this way dear, I need to investigate this,let me get my tools" she went inside a room and came back with an animal skin bag,she took a knife and a bottle out "this is going to hurt but I need a little bit of your blood" she cut a small part on my finger and let the blood drip into the bottle "this will do,thank you" she patched the place up,tissle came back with a huge stash of the flower and handed it to me "I just needed a petal" I took a petal out "tissle please I need your blood,mine is laced with a poison" "my blood,what for??" I looked to the old woman for help cos it seems her dear tissle is lost "yes dear tiss she told me a drip of blood is needed for it to work" "wow old g no wonder we couldn't work it out" she cut her self and let the blood drip into my palm,I crushed it with the petal and started incanting """ LA hus lo maletus na mi sanztome""""I keep on canting TISSLE POV She keep on canting those strange words and it kept ringing in my head "old g what is she doing" cos it seems am the only one lost here "even I don't know tiss" soon a red glow started emitting from her palms and she stopped and opened her palms but the blood and petal weren't there any more only a red round small crystal,she looked at it and smiled "I thought it won't work" "what are you going to do with that and HOW DID YOU EVEN DO THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE,WHO THE HELL ARE YOU OR WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU???" seriously I was confused but old g seemed calm and was staring at the crystal in awe "old g didn't you see what just happened and you ain't reacting" "oh tiss how do I explain this,you know all those stories I told you of supernatural beings and how they truly existed well Ariel here is a werewolf" old g must be joking right "all those stories were made up by you,what are you saying" "well they ain't and you choose not to believe them" "I must be dreaming or loosing my mind" how could any of it be real a fight that happened 3000years ago and a human and a werewolf being in love and a vamp who wanted the human too, its all fake right,all just made up stories "dear as much as you don't want to believe it,it's true" "but old g she is human am looking at her flesh and blood" Ariel just kept quiet and didn't deny anything "well I could change but am weak right now and I need this crystal to gain my strength back" she swallowed the crystal and her body started glowing the same red hue of the crystal "what's happening to you Ariel" "I need to sleeee..........." she started saying before she zoomed off to dream land I guess,old g properly covered her up "I think she needs the sleep to regain her energy" we really have a lot to talk about with old g "oh dear tiss I know you have a lot to ask and your mind is still processing the ones you learnt but it's the truth,didn't you always wonder how I made up all the stories of cos I needed a real story" well it's true I did always wonder but I didn't really put much thoughts to it "there is some much more I need to tell but first make me some tea and serve it with snacks" leave it to old g to take her time before she tells you a vital information. OLD G POV My dear tiss looked hopeless and speechless and I can't do anything to ease her pain it must really pain to know what you have considered a lie to be the one truth you have being searching for and I haven't even told her anything yet "dear tiss you have to understand, I made a promise to your mom to let you have a normal life,I have already breached that promise by telling you stories about supernaturals and now am telling you this" she still wasn't saying anything just staring straight at me like she is looking past me "please tiss say something,anything" she opened her mouth like she wanted to say something but decide against it and stood up" am sleepy and tired old g let me rest" she is trying hard to deny the truth,I knew she wasn't ready,she walked to her room and shut the door,how will she then react when she hears she is 500years old and I am 565years old even I can't believe it sometimes but that's the sacrifice my daughter made to make sure am alive to take care of her daughter but I can't keep lying to my tiss anymore I have left her in the dark already and I can't afford to hide anything from her since she has learnt about this already but where will I start,I decided to let her and her thoughts be maybe it will help her to come to terms with the truth,I checked up on the little pup and she has stopped glowing and is sound asleep I need to check out that blood sample,it will be bad if the vamps have found something to use against werewolves and now they are trying it to see the effects but I need to get to town to get some things from the market. I really don't like associating with those people, humans tend to fear,misunderstand and interpret what they don't know they should have wasted that energy and time on their selves but that's the world we are in right now we spend time judging others and overlooking our owns faults I have lived long enough with this creatures, I have seen how they have wasted their potential because of fear of the unknown I guess if it wasn't because of my daughter I will have also lived a clueless life but am not one to blame them I was once like them so I know how they relate,they probably think I don't hear everything they say behind my backs even after everything I do for them,I got to lord lutas store a very prestigious and hardworking man "and my favourite customers decided to finally visit me today" he has a foreign accent "oh you know how busy I am lut dear" "of cos how could i forget,the balm you gave me for my back really worked am grateful" "you don't have to mention,am just doing my job" "what is it you are looking for today cos you always ask for the bizarre stuff" I chuckled because it was true "well today I need a hemestastescope and I need it urgently" that little rare device could look into tiny unseen details or detect abnormalities "but old g you know how hard it is to get that device,its almost impossible" "I know dear but nothing is impossible for you and I need it urgently,you know the strange plague that broke out am trying to find a cure and I need that device" well I have to lie I can't possible tell him I need it to solve a vampire mystery and I have already found the cure for the plague I just need to add the tsanitus.
