Instance Dungeon Part 2

Wiping his sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand, Ernest arrived in front of the golden chest. Getting there was hard, he staggered in every step as if he’s going to die from exhaustion. But it was worth it. If there is something worthy of a journey at the end of the road. Then this current state he has is nothing compared to it. Now, the moment he arrived in front of it. It opened by itself. [Congratulations! You opened the gold chest.] [Rewards received: 10,000 experience points. 1,000 gold coins Goblin Slayer (Title) 2x Dungeon key A chance to spin a draw 1x. Possible to receive divine rarity items. ] Receiving the rewards, a spin-to-win wheel appeared in front of him. There is a jackpot reward where one can win divine rarity items but the chances of winning it are quite slim. Due to the thin spaces compared to basic items where the spaces are wide. Ernest spun the wheel. It spins and as time goes by, it decelerates. Then, it stopped. [Congratulations: You received 300 gold coins.] Ernest frowns at his rewards, why does he keep getting gold coins? “It can’t be helped, I just gladly take it.” [1,300 golds are now transferred to your account.] [User stats are now refreshed.] [Congratulations, your level has risen to 15. New skills can be learned through the skill tab.” [You have 60 unused status points. Please allocate it before proceeding to the next dungeon.] Now that she mentioned it, Ernest began allocating the points. He invested 20 in strength, 15 in agility, 15 in intellect, 5 in vitality, and 5 in dexterity. Now that he had witnessed the power of status points or attributes, he wanted to experience more of its hidden power. [Bonus dungeon cleared! You will now be transported to the main dungeon stage in five seconds.] Onto the next stage, the real one. The surroundings turned white as he got transported to another dimension. As he opened his eyes, new surroundings welcomed him. It was not the coliseum where he was just before. From the looks of it, it looked like a cemetery. Instead of broad daylight, it was nighttime, the eerie forest around him was shrouded with mist. Before he proceeds, he opens his skill tabs to learn new skills. [New passive skills: Courage, Relieve, Auto Block.] [New active skills: Triple s***h, Moonlight Splitter.] [Past skills can be level up! Unique skill h****k can be level up.] Ernest then tapped the learn icon and leveled his past skills two times. By leveling the skills, it can increase the damage, reduce the cooldown, and enhance its effect. All set, Ernest traversed the muddy field. He constantly checked his perimeter as he did not want to get surprised. After two minutes of walking, he saw nothing of an enemy. But he still continued. Even though he doesn’t know the objective, he still continued. -Roar. A wailing cry was heard in the distance. Ernest reflexively turned around and looked. The earth around him trembled as something beneath it protruded out. Writhing in the ground was an eyeless monster with a big mouth. He had seen these monsters before. Based on his memories, they are ghouls! Their grotesque features made him want to puke. They are small and bipedal monsters. But they are not to be underestimated. As far as his memory serves, a lot of adventurers were killed just from the ghoul. Drawing his sword, Ernest prepared for combat. “Grarrrrr!” One of the ghouls pounced on him. Ernest saw its movement and neatly dodged it by leaning backward. Mid-air, Ernest raised his swords and cut the ghoul in half. The death of their comrades turned them into berserk. Growling at him. They looked pissed off so Ernest smirked a little. One by one, they charged and the moment they arrived at the preferable distance, they leaped into the air. The main attack of the ghoul is simply by pouncing, and when it succeeds, it will maul on its prey. So Ernest, who is wary about this, just simply sidestepping it. His nimble footwork allows him to dodge their futile attempts as if he was just dancing. As the ghoul landed on the ground, they needed time to recharge. Making them vulnerable in seconds. Ernest knew this and grabbed the opportunity to slice them in half. Bloods began splashing, guts littered, dreadful cries. The scene turned into a m******e. Bloods dripped from the tip of his blade, Ernest looked at the ghoul corpse dead in the eye. “So easy.” The earth shakes, accompanied by a loud noise, attracted his attention. It was coming from behind. He turned around and saw a giant figure. It's a one-eyed giant, wielding a huge bark. “Cyclops? Why do high-ranking monsters keep appearing from this dungeon? Isn’t this supposed to be low-rank friendly?” If this was his former self, he would’ve pissed in his pants and would immediately find a safe place to hide. But he was nothing more like that. His drastic change from the system steeled his thoughts and emotions. He doesn’t feel like running, instead of experimenting. He just learned a new skill that is worth trying. And the cyclops offer a big practice target. “Do me a favor...don’t move,” Ernest said. Tightly holding the hilt of his sword, it gleamed. [Moonlight splitter]. With a gleaming sword, he slashed the air three times. Three crescent-shaped lights were fired and struck the cyclops. Its arms and legs were chopped off. The cyclops let out a cry of anguish. The sound displeases him, so he dashed to close the distance. And when he arrived, he pierced his sword through its throat, stopping it from whining. Now that he stopped, he pulled the sword out and decapitated the cyclops. “This is just too easy.” He flaunted, “How can I defeat these monsters so easily?” He is beginning to believe, is this all because of his system? Well, obviously that was the only logical explanation for what was happening. After killing the cyclops, he looked around. There’s no one to be seen. So he continued walking until he arrived in an odd place. There was a church in the middle of the unknown forest. ‘This is too creepy. Should I enter?’ He entered the church. Inside it was just a church. But the difference is that the pew is dilapidated and broken. As if someone turned berserk inside and destroyed everything in his sight. Not only that but there are also skeletal remains littered in the ground. Just from this scene, Ernest decided to stay wary of his surroundings. Until...a crackling noise was heard. Around him, the skeletal remains from the ground reconnected and converged, forming a skeleton warrior. They were no threat, Ernest lazily swung his sword around and sent them again to their original place. “They are so weak. Is it because I have grown strong? I’m only level 15, imagine If I become level 100 or beyond that.” With a goofy grin, Ernest pondered about his future, his eyes brimming with excitement. But now, he feels stuck. What is he supposed to do here? He is killing monsters for over ten minutes and yet the boss is not coming. Getting impatient, Ernest shouted. “Oy Boss! Come on out! Stop hiding in the dark! Face me you s**t!” A sound of an air being pierced echoed. Ernest immediately raised his sword and instantly parried the incoming projectile. Someone just threw something at him. But surprisingly, he was shocked. His body moves on its own as if he lost control of it for a second. [Passive skill: Autoblock activated. Fifteen percent chances of blocking enemy attacks.] Observing the intercepted projectile, he saw a broken arrow. “An Archer? Come on, I’m tired of destroying things!” At his call, no one responded. “Okay then.” Ernest’s eyes gleamed coldly, “Moonlight splitter.” Swinging his sword, three projectiles were fired and destroyed the constitution of the church, causing it to collapse on its own weight. Ernest was unfazed as he just protected himself from debris by slashing it. “You’re not really coming out huh? Okay, what about this…” Just before he could launch another attack, he noticed something coming out. “At last, you’re coming out. You made me destroy the church for your attention, aren’t you? I’m so pissed right now.” The figure showed itself. It was covered in robes, making it hard for him to identify his enemy. But anyway, it’s an enemy and he will kill it just like how he does from his friends. Jumping towards it, Ernest landed before it. Raising his sword above his head, he delivered a downward blow. A deafening sound was produced. Ernest’s eyes widened. It was blocked by a...mace. Even this close, Ernest couldn’t identify the gender of the enemy. Even monsters have a gender you know. “Not bad...you blocked it. You’re the second one who blocked my attack. This is getting interesting.” Ernest said, curling his lips. However, he was somehow disappointed at the lack of emotion from the figure. It was no fun to deal with someone who is as expressionless as this — thing. Ernest decided he shall end the battle here and return home. He could do so by pulling out the sword and aiming at his neck to behead it. That was just an easy feat until. It was repelled by the mace. Ernest staggered back due to the force he applied on it, causing a drawback. The mace that blocked his sword crackled in electricity. Then at that moment, Ernest realized his mistake. The figure hit him in the sternum in full force, sending him flying into the air. He landed and caused the pew on his landing spot to crackle and shatter. Ernest groans in pain. Ernest quickly stood up, ignoring the pain. He had been careless there. It won’t happen again. He clicked his tongue as he admitted it. ‘That ability, an enhanced one?’ His knowledge about magic in this world is lacking, but he heard that magic that increases the potency of a weapon is called enhancement magic. He checked his body, it was quivering and trembling. Small currents of electricity run through it. He was electrocuted from that attack and received a considerable amount of damage. He wants to learn what magic he just used. But he can’t find it if he's going to stand here and do nothing. There’s only one way. Ernest breath, “Hijack.” Suddenly, Ernest felt a sudden change in his body. [Processing enemy skill...confirmed. [Essence of Thunder] acquired.] With the use of a h****k, he just stole one of his abilities. “Then, my turn.” Ernest's blade started crackling with electricity. The only thing to attack is to get closer. He dashed and closed the distance. He just gets there easily without resistance. Is this a trap? Ernest didn’t have time to ponder. He wanted to end it immediately so he struck the blade. The blade cuts through its body like it was made out of butter. There is no resistance at all. Ernest was puzzled. Why would you let someone attack you? Its body was cut in half. It falls to the ground. Ernest removed the hood and saw a rotting face. It was an undead. “You bore me. I am looking forward to our fight and yet you let me attack you?” The undead’s head didn’t respond. “If you want to die that badly, then I’ll give it to you.” Ernest raised his legs and stomped at its face. [Dungeon cleared! Rewards will be sent to your inventory.] “Wait, that's it? So lame, the bonus dungeon was better than this.” [Transporting the host in three...two...one…] Ernest returned to the place where he first saw the dungeon. It seemed like he returned to his original world. Although he doesn’t know how much time has passed. He returned to his home. As soon as he opened the door, a cute-looking angry girl welcomed him. Ernest gulped, he knew what that look signified. “I’m going to die…” The anger of his little sister erupted. “BROTHER!! WHY ARE YOU LATE?!”
